Showdown

Perfect example of an excellent idea with horrendous execution. The all or nothing reward is brutal. It was the worst part about MTO last year and they made that change, only to dump the same awful concept into this mode. Either make certain non showdowns repeatable or tweak the difficulty/sliders. The first inning showdown has left me frustrated to the point of not wanting to even play the game, which generally speaking, has been well improved in 20. The offline BR idea is really good and I’m glad they’re giving another offline option, but it shouldn’t make you want to snap your controller on day 4.

I like it. But way to do we have use stubs to play them? That aint right.
-
Great concept i love the idea.... all the way until i have to play it out... especially with the one challenge i just lost. It started me with a runner on second and nobody out. Goal is score a run... simple enough... until the computer decides let throw a pickoff at least 10 times in a row. Mind you, i never increased my lead or preloaded a steal or nothing. Eventually they picked off my runner. The guy batted doubles... they do it again.... what the $%#*!!! I. Done with this mode. Fix the [censored] or make stars easier to get in basic games. This is just stupid.

Totally agree with OP. I really don’t like that you can lose the whole thing before the final battle. The CPU defense is just super human and absolutely absurd, diving catches, robbing HR’s, etc. still has a ton of potential, but desperately needs tuning, very similar to the opening moments from ‘19. I just hope they act quickly and adjust things
-
Agreed.
Something has to change. Either take out the entry fee or let us stack our lineups by redoing the middle-challenges over.
-
Yes, yes, yes. I really, really, really hate this mode. 2 hours work down the drain, not once but twice.
Hell let me pay 1000 stubs to retry the final mission, before making me have to go back through it all again.
If it's all or nothing, why does it have to be so long? Or have check points at each red mission so I don't have to go all the way back.
The game is supposed to be fun, this mode is not fun. It almost makes me want to play H2H online to get through 1st inning program instead of playing this [censored].

I’m convinced that as is, I will never beat a showdown. I see online that many people have no issues at all, and that’s great for them, but I seriously have no chance. These to me seem significantly harder than moments extreme from ‘19.

Yeah, I feel the same way. I have been eliminated at all 3 eliminations multiple times. It is worse than frustrating. Moments suck, but showdown is horrible.

4 days into the game and I’m ready to find a different game. Can’t overstate how disappointed this is, I was looking forward to the show for months...

I've been burnt by this feature 4 times now. Done with it until they fix it and make the missions repeatable. Also, GARBAGE how much this ties into the 1st inning. Really, really hope they don't keep this up.

Anyone reading this - Go play MTO or Exchange Players to get the FotF cards. Showdown mode is a scam to get you to waste stubs. Pitchers consistently dotting pitches and too many Good/Okay when the ball is in the middle of your PCI. They have messed with the sliders behind the scenes to give you a false sense of security, so that you'll feel confident enough to spend stubs, but then rig the game to make you fail. It almost feels like a random arcade game, where after spending thousands of stubs, it'll give you sliders that will allow you to win.
-
Or dump the draft idea and let us play with our DD squad - you know the cards we've been collecting?? Something to do offline with our DD team besides the o-so-stale Conquest?
-
What they need to dump is the middle bosses
-
As a franchise player trying to give other modes a try, I find this mode to be beyond frustrating. CPU plays way better than the stated difficulty. The draft is a joke - you get half a team and a bunch of scrubs to go up against over-powerd CPU teams/players, and to top it off, you are charged an asinine amount of stubs to play it. SMH. Personally, I won't touch this mode again unless there are major changes made to it.

This is such a fun mode. But the fact you have to spend subs to play it?! Are you freaking kidding me SDS!!! This just shows this company is a bunch of greedy pigs anymore. I just lost 4,000 stubbs and for what? I gained nothing. I can see people getting hooked on this mode and spending a ton of money to try and beat it. And I'm sure that is why it was added.
For someone like me. I'm decent at the game. But I use guess pitch and bat on Vet + or All star. I'll never beat this [censored]. It's just a waste of stubs and a huge missed opportunity. Hopefully they come in and tweak stuff and soon. Getting rid of the pay to play should be the first thing they do. Then restarting would be annoying, but not the worst thing in the world.
