It is from TS19 because the only reason I am anywhere near ranked seasons is because I’m trying to get that platinum trophy (I have 17, 18 and 20 so I’m determined).
This isn’t a ‘the game is against me’ video. It’s just a bit of fun I had with ShareFactory (although in this case the game was against me... lol)

Annoyed by the number of foul balls? Valid complaint. Expecting to hit your spots with NOLAN RYAN? You can't expect to dot the corners with him regardless of input. Maybe if you aim down the middle you'll hit the corners. If you care about control, use someone else.

Look at the size of the circle when you get good input though. Using pulse you just guarantee the ball will end up somewhere in that circle.
Nolan has lower control so his good circle is larger thana pitcher with better control numbers.

Yeah, I used pulse exclusively until this year, when I made a hard switch.
Pulse can be decently consistent, and of course all pitching modes are afflicted by gravity balls this year but, you will never really be able to throw dots with pulse. -
In that video, all the pitches seemed to be in that general area of the circle so I guess thats why it happens. I wonder after watching that if things like meter and pure analog have the same sort of circle that the ball can be in. That would at least explain why the ball goes kind of all over the place with good input when thats what you have a few times there.
Makes me wonder a bit more about the pitching now...

Is it hard to get to Championship Series in '19? I reinstalled to try but it seems so different from '20 to me.
It’s hard for me because I’m not very good. I got up to 678 last year but then lost something like 9 in a row so I gave up. I’m trying again in a more zen-like state. I’ve never played ranked other than for 19 so I can’t compare it. Others could.

What is the platinum trophy and how to you achieve it?

Platinum on PlayStation is to get all other trophies for a game (if the game has a platinum - some don’t).
In MLB The Show 19 there are around 25 or so other trophies to get for various things, one of which is to reach level 800 in ranked seasons.
That’s the only one I have left. Probably the equivalent possibility for me of hitting a home run off de Grom in real life. But I’ll keep trying until TS21 drops.

Pitching was just routine, not really fun. I used to watch tv when I pitched just because I could. I remember striking out 9 in a row with Matt Harvey back in 17 or 16 on HoF difficulty in my franchise (admittedly I let a foul ball drop in the 8th or 9th batter so I kind of cheated).
Switched to meter last January and suddenly pitching was engaging and interesting. The only reason I’m doing pulse in my march to the 2019 CS is because I consider ranked seasons a chore that I want to get through with as little effort as possible so I can move on with my life (want the 19 platinum). I’m looking forward to trying analog pitching in the future.

You're using pulse pitching (not the easiest to control) and playing with Nolan Ryan (low control and BB/9's). Pure analog or maybe meter would probably yield more accurate pitches, but Nolan Ryan can get lit up if someone can hit the fastball.
