    Great episode.
    Some observations....
While contracts are usually front loaded, the Dodgers back loaded Mookie because of the financial uncertainty caused by COVID.
They are betting on things getting back to normal in the future. So by paying Mookie less now, they will have financial flexibility to make other moves. It's a stroke of genius, they maintain their financial superiority while everyone is scrambling for cash AND picked up a top 5 position player.

Eric Thames played in the KBO in Korea before coming back to the States and lighting up the MLB for the First month or so for the Brewers in 2017. He got the Lightning card for that first month.

    The Marlins:
Assuming the Marlins are not in playoff contention, which they should not be....
Starling Marte is a trade deadline piece that plays a premium position. He should bring a better return than what the Marlins gave up for him (Caleb Smith a 4th starter at best).
Corey Dickerson - could also bring in a piece or two.

The Marlins in this year's draft became the only team in MLB history to draft all pitchers. The Marlins seemed to have a philosophy to trade young arms (Gallen, Anderson) for advanced high potential minor league position players (Jazz Chisolm, Jesus Sanchez) . The Marlins did not have a good track record in developing position players so they would develop pitchers, keep the gems and trade off the excess for prospects that have had a chance to develop some. Is it a sound strategy? Time will tell.
BUT, that was the philosophy under Mike Hill. So who knows what approach the new GM, Ng, will have.

The Brewers are a dumpster fire. lol

    Good show fellas...keep it up.

Actually, about Betts, that makes a lot of sense!
This is some good stuff. Thanks for listening!
