I didn't hate the sequels. It does suck the way they handled Luke and Han, and I didn't really need the Emperor coming back (not sure if there was more about that in the other canon medium). The trip to Canto Bight was pointless. But, overall, I didn't hate them. Of course, I'm also one who didn't hate the prequels. Yes, there were missteps and things I wish they did differently.

But Favreau and Filoni seem like they have it figured out. I know Filoni, particularly, is kind of Lucas part two of the things I've read.

A. It's the prequels that need to join the Expanded Universe in de-canonization.
B. Go ahead and run your 47 spinoffs. But Mandalorian proper should be done. The story's over. Finished. Done.
C. Once the lightsaber fired up, we know who it was. Instead of trying to recreate that Rogue One moment, they should have had it play out with just the sound and people's shocked faces. We shouldn't have seen the lightsaber until the blast doors opened.

Bonus point: Is Jon Favreau now cemented his place as the most integral part of Hollywood? His resume:

Yes I did. We get more Boba action in 1 episode than we did in the entire original trilogy.
It's amazing how a bad A$$ looking character with barely any lines or screen time became a legend, that inspired the show that will save the franchise.

I didn’t expect to see Luke. Midway through the episode, I started wondering if Ashoka was going to show up and help them. Then when the Jedi arrives, it hit me that it might be Luke. Of course, then the lightsaber kind of gives it away.
