So you think I should get the 97 instead of the 99 I have right now? (Of Story)
I rock the 99 for the defense only.
How long would it take to get the Mondesi?
I'm not sure tbh. Hes incredibly worth it though.

I'm not on the game right now. Do you know what month that was? I am going to buy the Topps now cards before I get on.

Sweet. Do you know where I could get a list of which Topps Now Cards were December?
Edit: I guess I could just watch a YouTube video of people doing that collection. -

I'm shocked that Neshek is on this list. I LOVE when my opponent brings him in. It's glorified BP.
Mine best hitters all year (in no particular order) are Ted, Griffey, Seager, Chipper, Bellinger, Didi, Trout, Jackie, Ruth, and Tatis.
Pitchers are MadBum, Goose, Dibble, Chapman, Sale, Wagner, Grenkie, Kluber, Kershaw, Mo.

I'm the same way when it comes to Neshek. I hit him hard, been facing him since 15, and whats funny is his ERA is only over 3 because of one appearance where he gave up 4 runs.

No Soto?!? And coming from a Braves fan
-
My top 10 would be pretty boring. My #1? Brian Roberts. Why on earth??? This is my first year in DD, didn't start until May. I put him in my lineup and I could actually hit with him. And, he was my first Prestige. So... yeah.

Not a fan. 40 or so AB, only swinging a .140. I was surprised too.

End of year top 9 batters I've used
Trout Awards- I love this card and no other one is close to the numbers I have put up with him
Fernando Tatis Lightning - Amazing card especially in clutch spots
Ken Griffey Jr - It's Ken Griffey, I like everyone else wait for this card the most. Yes we had to wait a long time for him this year but it's been worth it for me because he's been a staple in my lineup ever since I got him in the 10th inning.
Jimmie Foxx Signature - The ball jumps off his bat
Juan Soto Finest - Card mashes enough said
Mickey Mantle Prime- I had been asking for a Mantle card for years and this one did not disappoint
Ted Williams Signature - My best bench bat. One of the best swings in the game
Albert Pujols Signature- It took me awhile to figure out the time on his swing but now that I have it down he's an absolute beast.
Babe Ruth - One of my newer cards but I've already had a lot of great at bats with him already (his first at bat for me was a game deciding triple)
4 best Pitchers
Chris Sale Signature - I can't lose with this card he this years version of Bob Feller in 2019 for me with more strikeouts (I would not have the Babe without him)
Clayton Kershaw Awards - Pinpoint control for me at least. He's filthy
Mike Scott - One of my biggest surprises this year because I couldn't pitch at all with him in 2019, he's been lights out in 2020 however
Orel Hershiser - While he may not be my go to anymore there was a point when I used this card for almost every big win I needed
2 best Relievers
Rich Gossage - A obvious choice. His stamina alone makes him one of the best relievers but he's also filthy
Mariano Rivera - I love his cutter, if used correctly it can make someone look absolutely silly. -
I'm just going to assume these lists are all one step below the true #1 overall, Gavin Lux.
-
Solid list. I would add Soto and Machado and Tatis to the hitter list for sure. The new Bellinger is also great but not a huge sample size for me yet. But Griffey, Trout, Mondesi, Fox, Mantle are definitely in my top 10. I do feel like some pitchers you missed. Finest Degrom, Darvish and Bauer are money and easy to prestige. Orel has been a mainstay in my rotation since he came out. And awards Kershaw is filthy.
-
Interesting list. Thanks for sharing. I had been wondering in the past day or so -- and was going to make a topic -- of who the best overall hitters are. Not worried about fielding, speed, etc. Just the best pure hitters (combo of contact and power).

I had a tier list going but decided "Nah" and found this to be a much easier condensed version of it.
We are going to list our top 10 hitters and pitchers. Base it on your personal preference, not just a cards attributes and please only use cards you have actually played with.
Top 10 Hitters
No. 1
Aldaberto MondesiYou knew this was coming. 20+ games in, hitting a .484 against righties and a whopping .780 vs LHP. His speed is godlike. The shift against him makes him so much better vs righties, and his ability to bunt and bring the 2b in only makes that gap easier to bloop into.
No. 2
Mickey Mantle5 tools, but bests Trout and Griffen for one sole reason. He is a switch hitter.
No. 3
Ken Griffey JrThe sweetest swing, Ken is the best card to have at the dish when facing RHP. No top spin on this swing.
No. 4
Mike TroutIts Trout dude.
No. 5
Jimmie FoxxThis guy just hits the ball hard no matter what hand he's facing. Slow out of the box, but plays the C position on my squad. Does a good job nailing players like Cobb on the bases, and blocks effectively too. End game C.
No. 6
Larry WalkerI really with Larry could play 1B. He rides my bench, but has that smooth swing that pounds the ball out of the yard. Coming in with diamond defense and a absolute cannon attactched to his arm.
No. 7
Jackie RobinsonMondesi-esc, I replaced Jackie with Aldaberto, but couldn't forget how good he was to me. Speed speed speed, and like Mondesi singles for days with the occasional long dong.
No. 8
Carlos GonzalesThe first card NOT on my end game roster. Defense, decent speed, and arguably a top 5 swing in the game, Cargo carried me early on, and I love his later version just as much.
No. 9
Chipper JonesWhile I haven't used his 99 version, the early Chipper got me through the game much like Cargo. He plays so well for me that I have considered making him another bench bat on my end game squad despite how many other options I have available to me.
No. 10
Trevor StoryYou were probably expecting this, tbh I wasn't. But I'm not talking about his finest card, nope. I firmly believe his Awards card to be the better of the two, he has a great swing, but the added speed and better power numbers vs RHP edge him over his 99 self.
Pitching
No. 1
The Cheesy CAPI don't care what others say. The CP, balanced edition that carries a 4sm, ch, slider is the best card in the game. Especially when you're an [censored] hole like me and give him Adam Cimber's delivery. Riding a 2.12 ERA in 27 innings, 45ks with 19 saves.
No. 2
Goose Gossage12 innings, 19 K's, 0.00 ERA. Legit the best non CAP reliever. Pay the 1m stubs for him, I promise you, you will not regret it.
No. 3
Aroldis ChapmanYou've seen him a million times, but he will still give you trouble. For several years now Chapman has dominated, and that trend continues. 20 IP, 2.30 ERA and close to 40ks as my setup man.
No. 4
Tom SeaverOur first starter. His 4sm, sinker combo is among the deadliest in the game going from 96 to 93 with plenty of movement. 30+ innings and an ERA under 2.50.
No. 5
James PaxtonOur 2nd starter, POTM Paxton is and has been lights out for me. Packing a 99mph 4sm, and a 91 MPH cutter, watch out. 40+ innings, ERA around 2.50.
No 6
Blake SnellEarly on Blake Snell with his funky release carried my squad. The over the top arm angle has given me a solid 1.67 ERA in close to 50 innings. He may come back to the rotation yet.
No. 7
Pat NeshekOur second cheeseballer, Neshek simply relies on a funky delivery with slow movement that often forces early/very early swings. ERA around 3.50, but leads my relievers in GIDP.
No. 8
Eric GagneBoasting 125 H/9, and a decent repertoire, Gagne has lived in my bullpen as a 6-7th inning guy. 0.00 ERA in 12 innings.
No. 9
Rob DibbleThis one i can't really explain. Very basic repertoire, but just absolutely dominates. 14 IP, 0.00 ERA.
No 10
Brendan McKayThrew my first online perfecto with him.
Which version of Snell?
No Awards Kershaw?
No PS Buehler?

Completely disagree about Mondesi... when I see someone using him in their starting line up in RS, I think they're just giving away outs in the big picture... with only 53 vision and no power against RHP, what does he really bring to the table? Switch hitter... who cares... makes zero difference whether the batter is hitting from the left or right side, you should be timing the pitches the same way no matter the batter. 99 speed... overrated attribute for a regular. At best, I see Mondesi as a pinch runner (I have Henderson for my PR and think his baserunning is superb). If you're bunting to get hits against quality opponents, while it may work out every so often (especially if you catch an opponent who doesn't adjust his defense), you're giving away outs overall, this I can guarantee.
