I have yet to win a game and I’m absolutely overmatched. I went from 750 (last game on PS4) to low 600s in a blink of an eye. I have never ever striked out so much in the last three years. On HOF level it’s near impossible to hit. Allstar feels like HOF.
On average on HOF online I’m around 5 strikeouts and 1 or 2 SOs on Allstar. Now I’m closer to 10 on Allstar and my last HOF game was 16!!!! I have no idea what’s going on? I’ve checked my settings and play with a monitor and it’s getting to the point it’s downright unplayable for me.
On Allstar I use to think the pitches were so slow and now they’re at HOF speed for me. Anyone else experienced this? I’m usually an upper 800 and will make WS if I put in the effort type player. Now 600 ranked guys are mopping the floor with me.
I'm in the same boat, but still have my old ps4. Made Championship series for the first time last RS, and now sitting in the 500's. Funny thing is I'm 8-2 in the HOF event and all games are like 1-0 / 3-2 / etc. NO ONE can hit in that event. I think they have done something with the sliders across the board.
Oh and I got destroyed by a 600 player last night. The whole time I'm saying this person has to be in the high 700's only to find out he was barely 600. So either I just suck all of a sudden or their is a fresh crop of highly skilled players.
It does bring comfort to know I'm not the only one though!
They 150% changed something. All I’ve seen in streams and throughout my gameplay is that it is completely different.
Agreed. Similar situation to the OP minus the PS5. I am also striking out ALOT more batters in this event than other HOF events. I wish they would announce if/when they changs things. I have to press my hit button when the pitcher is almost finished with his windup to catch up to a 102mph fastball.

Just played a 14 inning nail biter in the event. 10 TOTAL hits between us both. Opponent struck out 29 times, and me 17. This isn't very fun. Worse than the dead ball event. I'm seeing people swing when the pitch is already in the catchers mitt.

Funny that I am reading a lot of what is going on with me also. Seems like I am only playing brand new people in silver or gold range and have very few games in so their lineups must be bought. They are super fast at hitting and I get my a s s handed to me regularly all the time now. They can get to any pitch I throw anywhere and crush it, and at the same time I can not even make contact most of the time anymore. I would swear that the game is slowed down on their end when hitting so they have way more time to respond. I have had this game for quite a few years now and play more games than you can imagine. There is not that many super fast hand newbees playing this game all of a sudden, I am not buying it. Something is up.......

Its possible that this could be alternate accounts from great players and I thought the same when I've been experiencing the same thing lately,but regardless of my opponent my hitting seems way off and not in a sense that I'm in a slump or something. I did just hit 100 prestige recently. Maybe that's when you get nerfed or something.
Idk whats up but this is annoying and the game is borderline unplayable. Whatever they did they need to switch it back and like yesterday!

True... but definitely frustrating when you perf/perf a high inside 102mph fb and its caught at the warning track.... and this seems to be the norm not the exception.

They have it listed as the Giant Baseball Event. It's really the Prestige Nate Pearson Event.

It’s turned me off from playing, last night was the first night in forever I decided to play a different game. I’m a year round player almost daily unless I’m busy that night. My free time has always been mlb and last night I said uncle. I thought why put myself through this and feel frustrated when this is suppose to be an outlet. Sure we all get frustrated but this time it feels like it’s completely out of my control. If this is the way the game will be then it is what it is and I am no longer able to hang with the big boys I guess. I just really hope something was tweaked and it can be brought back to normal.
If anything I’ll just log on to prestige pitchers because strikeouts are coming easily now if your guy throws 102mph.

How heck would someone be worse on PS5? Makes no since when considering higher refresh rate than PS4, which has been proven to help people see the ball. This makes me think issue is not PS5 and that SDS adjusted sliders or something on backend.

Kinda in the same boat as you. I’ve won three of my last four games but not once did I have more than 8 hits which is extremely low for me. I faced Lamet yesterday and was late on every single fastball he threw and he doesn’t even have outlier. It’s either I’m having a major slump or aomething is off. I was doing fine in the events. RS is the problem.
I’m downloading an update on the PS4 live and will try a game there, just to see if there’s a difference or if I just need a break

First game on PS4 in two weeks, just beat an absolute goon (he was 90-11). Walked it off in the 9th 5-4 but it was a pitchers duel. Sucks I couldn’t judge pitch speeds since he threw Kershaw/Miller/Rollie at me. None of them have high velo.
Did make me notice how choppy the game was though compared to the PS5. Might be why pitches are easier to judge? Idk

The only reason I won was first pitch of the game I was expecting a FB it was a slider and it wa[censored] early for a HR. Nobody got another hit til the 4th. He then got into serious trouble with walks and I hit a blooper to score a few more.
This is not FUN. What the heck is going on? I can tell it’s not just me as the way my opponents are suffering and the comments on this thread alone. The game is now unplayable online.

I can’t say if it’s a PS5 thing for sure but my slump started when I got my ps5. This was actually my first online win on a PS5. Some have claimed switching back to their PS4 and they play good again. Have zero way of knowing if my opponent had a 5 but he was flailing bad! The only clue I could grasp to is he chose to play in rain and it’s also a MLB park. I’ve heard guys with the 5 will play in MLB parks with rain to gain an advantage because the 4 plays terrible in those conditions and the 5 is smooth.
I should go out to my living room and fire up the 4 on my big screen with no game mode and see how I play.

So I did just that, I went out a fired up the PS4 and here is the result.
After a two rough innings adjusting to the completely different setup from my main setup, event game I scored 7 runs and 10 hits in 4 innings until my opponent quit.
Mind you I’m playing on a PS4 6 yr old 65” tv on movie mode (was not on game mode) with a WiFi connection.
My current main setup is a PS5, 27” BenQ 1ms response monitor with a high speed LAN line direct into the console.
The game I just played like I said took a few ab to get the timing down but I never felt over matched. I could read the ball it was just a matter of when to swing. I also noticed when I was figuring it out my feedback was late or very late not the consistent too late like before.
I believe I had 3 perfects all on FB and once I got locked in it was consistent good at bats. I never felt overwhelmed like I do playing the PS5.
This is absolutely crazy and shows me something is up. I basically had one of the worst setups for online play and did waaay better than the last 5 plus games with a great setup.
Side note: Wow the PS4 version looks terrible compared to the 5.

Yesterday I played alot because of recouping from some health issues and I specifically paid attention to the feedback and only used high heat pitchers. It was comical because a vast majority of the guys I faced I spammed high heat to the point they had to know it was coming and it they were still late. Heck, I was still last more times than not when using contact swing. I don't think it is your PS5.

I started using it a week or so ago so yeah it could just be a coincidence but I just played a game on my 4 again and absolutely crushed.
