I understand, but I think it makes A LOT of sense. Because of his insane season, his stock is at it's "peak." But why trade him away at all?

Reliever Greg Holland has signed a one-year, $2.75 million deal with the Kansas City Royals, sources tell ESPN. It has performance bonuses that could take the value of the agreement up to $4.5m.

Hunter Renfroe to the Red Sox. It's a 1 year deal worth 3.1MM and a additional 600K in incentives. Renfroe's line last year was - 19 hits, 8 HRS, and a poultry batting average of 156. Good luck with that Boston.

Some great news coming out of Baltimore today. Trey Mancini had his three month checkup scans today and “they look perfect” (per his girlfriend Sara Perlman)
Mancini missed the entire 2020 season after being diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in March. Just about a month ago, Mancini was declared cancer free. With this checkup going according to plan, Mancini is expected to bounce back and play in the upcoming 2021 season. -

The Mariners and Rangers have agreed to a trade that will send right-hander Rafael Montero to Seattle, Jeff Passan reports. Texas will receive right-handed pitching prospect Jose Corniell in return. The Rangers will also get another prospect, a PTBNL

That's good news for KC, I think. He may have been a factor to the Royals' bullpen improving quite a bit in 2020.

Forgot to say: The Rockies and the NL Comeback Player of the Year Daniel Bard avoided arbitration, singing a one-year, $2.925M deal.

The Angels have signed left-hander Alex Claudio to a one-year deal worth $1.125MM, the club announced. Claudio hit the open market after he was non-tendered by the Brewers earlier this month.

It is a one-year contract with a club option for the 2022 season.
