Have You Ever Wondered...
-
If the person you’re playing, really isn’t the person that owns that PSN account?
What I mean, my last RS game (check out the crazy box score), my opponent had well over 200 losses, and wasn’t many games over .500
Yet he just could not miss, I mean hitting everything and hard. He was sitting at 894 before that and I’m just wondering if people pay others to take over their account to hit WS, go 12-0 etc.
Or, I’m just crazy and he was insanely locked in for 7 innings but I’ve never come across someone with that type of record be that skilled... thoughts?
-
This definitely happens. I have played people who couldn't hit the ball hard at all the first six or seven innings and would swing at everything and then all of a sudden score like six in one inning and are hitting a bunch of perfect-perfects. You can say someone made an adjustment but to me that is way more than just making an adjustment. I would be embarrassed if I ever allowed someone else to play for me to comeback and get a win or get a 12-0 or reach WS.

People do play on other’s accounts. I’ve def seen a guy’s record and thought “this is an ez dub” and they end up beating my [censored]
-
Yeah I may or may not have helped a few friends in the past reach WS by playing on their accounts.
-
Or alternatively, maybe some really good players let their kids or their buddies play on their accounts and ruin their records..?

Lol I did the exact same. Saw that record with prestige Hershiser on the mound thinking this should be smooth...

Totally think that was the case in my last game since he was sitting at 894...poor fella

On the flip side, which may further support your theory, I played a 5-inning event game (he dashboarded on me) against a WS icon + 12-0 banner guy who was striking out a little more often than I would expect. I was very confused.

May have been off, or drinking or something lol.
I consider myself solid at the game and I’ve looked terrible in all star before just being in a slump

Just asking why you do that? Wouldn't you want your friends to actually earn reaching world series? And doesn't that make you look at your friends a certain way that they would be willing to get to WS without actually earning it? I guess I just believe in actually earning what I get.

It’s a video game lol if I had any close friends that played this and needed help getting a certain card, if I had the time I wouldn’t hesitate to help.
Let them enjoy something they normally couldn’t attain themselves

People definitely do pay to carry. Conversely, some people tank their RS records on purpose if BR is their main jam

I guess I approach everything in life the same. Whether it's a video game or something in real life, I want to earn it. Personally I believe that letting someone else play for you (unless they are way worse than you) is a clown move but I guess we all have different morals.

Haha to me letting the fam eat would be helping them get better but not actually doing the work for them but that's just me.

If a buddy wants to trade me a bottle for a couple wins in a video game, I'm "earning" that bottle. We all have our price!

Haha that might be the one and only exception (just kidding but that was a good one).

Lank, I’m so ignorant to BR. What’s the benefit to one’s BR game if they tank their RS record?

No actual benefit, but when your RS record shows on game load, your opponent might underestimate you if it's bad.
People do it, but I don't know if they see better pitches to hit because of it or not.
