"expands game library" on ps5 ... Plays Golf
-
This has been the worst version of the show since 17, and I’ve been really frustrated with it especially lately, but to be fair I can’t really blame STS. I’m sure the pandemic and lockdown prevented the programmers from honing the gameplay throughout the year as they would in years past. Because of this, A lot of things that would normally get fine-tuned and fixed Did not. It is what it is and I’m hoping next year’s game will have those issues ironed out, though with lock down stretching into December and beyond, who knows?

Full disclosure, MLBTS has been my favorite video game for the last decade. However, since getting my PS5, I've expanded my game library, and with that, I've severely decreased playing this game.
First, I want to point out that no game is perfect, but after playing a variety of video games, it's apparent that MLBTS (especially this year), unequivocally has the worst gameplay out of any sports game I've played in a looooong time. Yes, this has been a large topic of discussion for a while, but even playing the most basic of games like PGA 2k21 has shown me that setting a foundation by getting the basic fundamental gameplay to a consistent level is the most important aspect of every sports video game. I hope SDS can get this right next year...
Real question cause I have no idea, but is PGA fun?

Hah you must not play 2k or Madden!
Actually, I've been playing both and would say with confidence that the gameplay is better in both Madden and 2K than MLBTS

And credibility is suddenly lost. Madden is absolute donkey, literally a game of animations and complete rng. 2k I can't remember tbh.

I'd have to disagree. Just recently, madden's community manager made a video about how awful Madden has become. Nobody above him is listening to the fans. MLBTS isn't there...yet. They at least try to improve content and a little bit of detailed gameplay.

It’s a pointless debate. They all have somewhat of a monopoly of the market and they all 3 suck in their own ways
Edit: I will say that I have the most fun playing MLB though!

How so? I would argue the fundamental gameplay for Madden is well above MLBTS. When playing this game, especially online, there are so many inconsistent and often unexplainable outcomes. I could go on all day about bad pci timing & location, errors, inconsistent pitch location results, fielding, baserunning, etc. Yes, Madded does have many flaws, but at least the gameplay is consistent enough to a level where outcomes can be explained.

There’s pros & cons to DD in the show...Yes, Gameplay is bad & needs fixed in a big way for 21....However, Unlike Ultimate Team in Madden & 2K - In DD You can still win with players that were available at launch, You can’t do that in any other sports game.

Completely disagree and here's why.
Madden has an entire stat attributed to RNG, its called awareness and only impacts AI, does nothing for the user. What makes it bad is that it affects 20 players on the field on every play in a h2h game where there is no ability to control each players actions. Only interaction you have is pre snap or of you manually switch to a player.
Furthermore, play results are limited solely on the animation you get. For instance there is a catch animation where the receiver literally runs in place to force a catch with no chance at YAC.
There are scripted "delays" on punts and field goals soley intended to be blocked.
Biggest form of RNG MLB has revolves around pitching. In the past this wasn't an issue, why they changed this I have no idea. Hitting is rng also, however nowhere near the level I believe Madden to be at. At least with hitting you can have a better impact on getting positive rng through pci location and timing.
My thought process when comparing the two.

You can win with any cards, but you can also lose with any cards. It’s not so much this that gives cause for concern, after all line up variety and diversity are a positive aspect to diamond dynasty generally. The problem here is you can win without actually outplaying your opponent and lose in a converse fashion. I’m not talking about a 3 inning BR [censored] shoot where luck can play a bigger part than skill. I’m talking about a RS game where you can play nine innings, have consistently better inputs than your opponent, exhibit superior plate discipline and tactical awareness, yet come away having been absolutely destroyed by a bad player, taking bad swings throughout the entire game. That’s not really acceptable.
