Looking at the other players, I really feel like they skimped him on his fielding. Bat looks fine, but his fielding and arm should be 90+, which may put him around 88-89 rating overall. More than fair for a long time vet player like this.

C rated defense for this card??? Come oooon SDS, not even the homer in me talking.

He'll get a better card down the road and this one is meant for balancing - if he would have elite defense he would be everyone's pick early on

These aren’t meant to be Signature Series cards. Obviously we don’t know what years or stats SDS used to make them, but it seems like they used more recent stats.

His fielding is really nothing special among catchers anymore, and certainly not diamond now. So if SDS just used the last 2-4 years, 77 is fine.

The Face of The Franchise cards are tweaked so they fit a specific Diamond level range. The teams that are cheapest to collect (Baltimore) are awarded 85 rated cards while the more expensive teams like the Astros are 89 rated cards.

Agreed, not looking for a sig series off the bat, but a bump in his fielding putting him at 88-89 is fair for a player of his caliber. At LEAST 82-87 defense

Yes, but all of the FOTF cards get a bump in their strengths. He is deserving of B level defense at least and when the sig and prime cards come out obviously he is A level

    Read my previous post.

Because the Cardinals are a relatively cheap team to collect they make the FOF card a lower level diamond. To do that they had to tweak the ratings. It looks like his defense is where they made some changes to make it fit.

The 89 FOF cards are all on the teams with more expensive collections, like Houston and LA
