NO JOKE, that song was just in my head.
There’s a song about Springer going to the Jays?
No, there is not.

What I’m thinking is Springer, Wong, Paxton, and another starter/reliever. I don’t really know how much they have to spend but I can’t imagine they can get two marquee guys.

Did anyone else see the news that MLB is rolling out a brand new minor league? Apparently, it's for draft eligible players, including high school and college players together in the same league. I think it read that about 5 or 6 teams would be created in cities that don't have a big league club already.

All I want for Christmas is the cardinals to actually want to win and get the people hitting below the Mendoza line outta there. (I also want a ps5)

In my mind the Mets were the best landing spot for Realmuto. However, they seem to be going in on McCann. If the Mets get McCann instead, where does Realmuto end up?

Simple Toronto, the Jays are going to get evryone this offseason lol. But in all honesty back with Philly or possibly Tampa. Theres also tons of teams like the Cardinals/Cubs that could use him as a DH if that rule sticks.

@samguenther1987Yes it's not good news for Cubs fans but it's his childhood dream and i'm happy for him in that regard and i wish him the best of luck as the White Sox anouncer.

The Rangers have traded Lance Lynn to the Chicago White Sox for two pitching prospects.
https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/white-sox-trade-for-lance-lynn-send-rangers-2-pitching-prospects/ -
The Phillies have denied the rumors that starting pitcher Zach Wheeler is on the trade block. Reports from other team's executives had came out saying that the Phillies had contacted everyone, informing them that Wheeler was able to be traded.
The team is not in the best financial position, as they were not able to sign JT Realmuto, the now top free agent catcher.
The Phillies executive said that he would not trade Wheeler for Babe Ruth, Ted Williams, or Mike Schmidt. -

https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/white-sox-trade-for-lance-lynn-send-rangers-2-pitching-prospects/I would think that Lynn to the White Sox would generate more competitive innings out of the White Sox starting rotation. He's 32, which is an age when many starting pitchers find their confidence, and he was already pretty good with Texas for a few years.

The Phillies executive said that he would not trade Wheeler for Babe Ruth, Ted Williams, or Mike Schmidt. That would be a mistake. Either of those three hitters would hit 80 HR's at Citizen Bank Park.

The White Sox have signed Adam Eaton to a one-year, $7 million deal. The deal also includes an $8.5M club option for 2022.
The Royals have signed Carlos Santana to a two-year, $17M deal.

I have not seen the news about Carlos Santana to the Royals yet. They've been talking about adding a middle order bat for a couple of weeks. I think this is very good news for a team that could use a disciplined, patient hitter with a good history of being productive. My question is about Santana's defense at 1B. I am not sure if he's regarded as a good glove. I thought he won or was nominated for a Gold Glove some years ago, but I can't remember. Thank you for the news!

The Mets are nearing a deal with James McCann. The deal is expected to be 4 years. (Ken Rosenthal)

The deal is actually worth $17.5M. He can also earn performance bonuses if he plays as expected that would take the deal to $18.5M.

"While the Mets are talking to James McCann, as has been reported in several places, and he may well be the most likely starting catcher option for the Mets, it is thought that the team is still at least in touch with JT Realmuto." -Jon Heyman on Twitter
