@ZFree1122 said in Hot takes get your hot takes.:

    Prestige rollins vs Tatis

Tatis has 21 con vs r
    45 powe vs r
    31 power vs left

Thats it. He's slower. A worse fielder, the arms a push, 30 worse vision (which sds has confirmed increases the dead center pci sweet spot). Rollins is also a switch hitter with balanced splits so he always has the handedness advantage.

Bellinger has a better arguement than any other first baseman because he's a true 5 tool firsr basemen with his speed and defense.

That being said, youre still giving up
    9 con v r
    27 con v left
    And 9 vision

Other than Bellinger Prestige Musial is the clear best. 125 contact high vision make it so easy to square the ball up.

Power is king in this game for one, which Tatis has the clear advantage. Switch hitting isn’t nearly as important as everyone makes it out to be. Rollins is short, and small strike zones are harder to hit with. Fielding makes no difference if they both have the diamond shield. There isn’t a noticeable difference between 99 and 90 but there is from 99 to 89. I’ll give you speed, but unless you are running a cheesy all speed team build anything over 80 speed is more than enough.
As for Musial, and he is a good card don’t get me wrong, is outclassed by Bellinger in literally every category. Contact vs L is the least important of the 5 hitting attributes simply due to no one facing LHP very often. Bellingers swing alone puts him over Musial.
That’s just the two examples you gave too. I didn’t even mention Honus(Who is basically a better Rollins without the switch hitting btw), Lindor, Seager, Babe, or Gehrig

So you say theres no difference defensively but Rollins in the only short stop that gets 90+ reaction with 90+ speed. He literally gets to everything and has a 1.000 fielding % in 1500+ innings. The arguement for Honus is there with prestige, but the base card doesnt match Rollins D. The arguement for the short strikezone goes out the window when you realize everyone is running Mookie, they're the same height.

Babe loses 35 vision to trade for 19 power v r.
Gehrig is the closest but without prestige he's worse defensively, doesn't get 125 power vs either hand and is strictly worse vs lefties.

Seager doesn't have 1b eligibility or the arguement could be made, he's WAAAY too slow to play middle infield.

Lindor is too slow to be at short to me but I haven't logged enough innings yet. In theory his 92 reaction should help make up for that but i cant say ive noticed that with machado.

My arguement for Musial basically boils down to how many reverse split righties we have, having a lefty who is vulnerable makes your whole line up weaker in late game pinch hit scenarios. Either throw a lefty at Musial and pitch vs max stats, or throw a righty and Trout/Betts/Griffey, ect behind him get to face a righty.

Another issue is the early or late hit and then boom homerun. That’s not how baseball works
