Cap is a fine option too. Just name him Geovanny Soto. But yeah benito played there in 1999

Yes 1999. Not sure why I didn’t know that. Full Season too.

Or Randy Hundley. He wasn’t a very good hitter but managed an all star appearance and one gold glove. Right now I am using a variation of my own name that the announcer actually knows and speaks.

So now, since all these players can’t make the squad, who does? “Gabby Hartnett” CAP wins at catcher, if for no other reason that I do not have Benito, and my CAP is probably better. I am not spending over 200 k for a 91 Pierre. All others can make the team. The only other player that I do not already have is Arietta, but he is a must have and I will get him eventually so he takes up a SP spot.

I use a all cubs team as well. I Use jimmy fox at catcher. Jim Edmonds in left, Brock and Dawson in center. Carlos Gonzalez and Bryant platoon rf . Happ and candelario play 3rd banks ss hornsby lemahieu 2b. McGriff castellanos 1b. My bench I mix and match using Hayward billy Williams baez sandberg lofton Pierre Murphy zobrist joe Carter nico kingman rizzo cliff floyd.
Pitching I go arrieta darvish hamels Maddux wood. I also use mills Lester Hendricks and Jenkins. Relief I use goose lee smith sutter Kimbrel eckersley Chapman Davis. I also will throw plesac and kintzler and Rodney in if my pen is drained. -
Good thing there isnt a Milton Bradley card.

PlesacI decided to leave out guys who played poorly while with the Cubs (Brock), or played for the Cubs at the end of their careers for just a short time (Foxx). So Brock, Foxx, CarGo, Edmonds, etc are out. Hamels, Lester, Hendricks, Jenkins, Kintzler, Prior, and Hayward did not make the team, for now, but I will sub them in. I do not have Goose or Zobrist. I did not realize Hornsby played so well for the Cubs (MVP in 1929) and for several years. He easily made the team.
