Can't have it both ways
-
Seems to me that a lot of people have been upset about the finest cards being underwhelming to them. It's interesting that a lot of those people have been the same people that said too many cards were over powered this year. Can't make everyone happy.
-
Agreed you make some happy but not others. There’s no way to please everyone.
-
They’d complain if there mom brought them chicken nuggets and not tenders.
-
They say these are underwhelming compared to TA3 and they also said TA3 was underwhelming for not being Pujols, Griffey, Gehrig etc. so it’s not surprising in the slightest
-
Agreed. Can’t ask to keep going in AZ and then ask to stop in PA & MI. (To be clear, I’m talking about Gallen, Candelario, and Harper Finest cards...)
The season was played and now it’s time for the stats to be counted...for card attributes.

That's because tenders stink. Nuggets are the bomb!

It would be cool if we could lock them all in for one truly juiced card. I think you could appease both if a lot of the Finest were underwhelming, but collecting them all gave you 1 useable reward.

You literally read that oppostie.

I wouldn’t say they’re underwhelming based on the card stats if they were released in a vacuum. They’re underwhelming - Not to mention largely rendered irrelevant even before release - due to the excessive amount of juiced flashbacks already released, most of which are better than the best cards of real life Hall Of Famers.
After a while there’s just no wow factor, everyone has 115 this and 125 that. I remember the days we used to watch the reveal streams and get super excited for the high end cards that were elite at their position. Now, Willie Mays is an afterthought in November and he’s a slightly worse defender in the field than 98 Topps Now Byron Buxton, albeit with a better arm. That MVP Griffey we waited all year for is 99 contact and 109 power vs LHP. Topps Now Yordan Alvarez is 103 contact and 109 power. They want to give out stupid ratings to flashbacks all year, of course the finest won’t be stand out cards that excite everyone in November. Go find a game where Chipper Jones went 4-4 with 3 XBH and a SB and give me a 125/125/125/125 Chipper with 97 speed and stealing.
Or just tone it down a bit and maybe people won’t be so dismissive of finest cards when they finally arrive. They’ll be happy to have some juiced flashbacks instead of bored with them already. We don’t need 26 versions of each card either. 91 LS Shane Bieber and 97 TN Shane Bieber and now 99 Finest Shane Bieber that you can prestige, so you’ll have yet another 99 Bieber in your inventory as well!!! It’s all way, way too much and the end result is a bland mish mash of repeated cards that all play much the same on the field, with a few exceptions.

It is not about having it both ways, it is about backwards [censored] content dropping from SDS
