Completely user based results.. but Mantle has been absolute trash for me, MVP Trout has been hands down the best hitter I’ve ever used. It’s never the card, it’s always the user in my opinion
When I make contact with Trout, results are amazing. But dang, i strike out with him and Tatis more than anyone. Any tips on how to improve here would be great
I am by no means a good hitter, except for Trout and Tatis.. I used to strike out a lot in the beginning until I realized the opponents tend to always pound them with sliders away.. I just lay off the sliders and everything else in the zone they hammer

I could hit fine with mantle until i prestiged him. Cant hit at all with him now. Honestly cant hit with any prestige cards except tatis honestly

Offline player here, I sold Foxx to get him. So far the HR numbers aren't there yet, but he's an XBH machine. Trouty got benched. Either a K or a ground out.

Mantle is a Yankee, and that’s about as bad a thing as a man can be... his card should be benched, sterilized, and destroyed.

Not saying I will, but I've been placing him lower and lower in my lineup and I'm just completely out of sync with his motion and swing. Everytime he's up to the plate I get reminded of it, even when I get a good result. Now that Griffey is released, it might be time to move on.
I know that to many Mantle is considered as the best or second best card in the game, but I'm just not feeling it anymore. And with only 3 spots available one has to make decisions. Anyone feeling similar in this regard?
Pretty much my thoughts and experiences with him. He started out so great, but as his OPS keeps dropping, so does his position in the lineup. He’s gone from third to seventh and will go to the retirement home once I reach 300 stars.

I'm not a great player, but I'm hitting 100 points higher with Trout, 80 points higher with Sheffield, and... 120 points higher with... Dante Bichette. I just can't hit with Mantle at all.

Nope. I felt that way about Mays at times last year though.
For me it's the other way around, I loved Mays. At the end of the day benching the collection reward feels kinda weird, especially because I have him prestiged and all, but I rather play someone I have confidence in.
I’ve heard others say they struggle with Mantle. I know you’re pretty good and don’t need much advice. But with Mantle (mine is Prestiged too), I just look for high or high and in fastballs. Or stuff breaking down and in depending on the pitcher.
Think I’m batting like .385 with 80 HRs with him. He’s one of the best cards I’ve ever used
I hit over .400 with him as well, but like I said the numbers don't tell the whole story for me. It's about feeling comfortable about a card, and I haven't been in a while with Mantle.
Crazy to think that someone is going to bench so.eone he hits over .400 with, unless this is offline hitting. Wish I had this kind of problem lol.

Yea I'm in the same boat. As much as I want to keep trying with him in hopes he will eventually be as good for me as he is for most people, he's definitely getting the boot when I get Griffey. Probably will run Arozarena/Trout/Griffey, and switch Randy for Mays when he comes out.

He's still a switch hitter so, at worst, he's just going to the bench.

I’m benching him as well. I can’t hit with him.

I benched mantle after about 60 AB. His swing is god awful for me was hitting .227. I normally don’t give cards that much of a chance but since it was mantle I did. He’s not even on my bench.
-
Given that Mays and Griffey are both available now, you may be ok with benching Mantle to pair them with trout for a stellar OF and mantle as the first bat off the bench?

Usually I'd agree, but I can definitely tell if I like a card or not in 60 ABs. It's not just about the stats you recorded through those 60 ABs.

Mantle is the last guy i consider benching (with Trout).

Red mantle bats .404 for me with 100 HRs through 644 at bats. Him and red trout are the best cards ive ever used. Im starting ti believe fox is too. First year using him
