Is it only me?

I seem to lose interest in RTTS once I make it to the MLB. I feel that there is nothing to try for, and no reward. If they made your contract worth stubs, or something like that, that would be fun! But once I make the MLB, I get bored and quit. Anyone else? Thoughts?

It's like that with me in a lot of games. The journey is often more fun then once you get there. Like in Civ 6, I love building my civilization, but once I am more powerful then the AI, it gets easy, boring, and repetitive.

After a couple years in, I usually go into one of two modes. First mode is combination of playing in simulating, to get to the Hall of Fame. Second, which is the most fun for me, is to try to get traded to as many teams as possible. I know it sounds dumb, but I crank up the trade slider just to see what happens. I enjoy the new teams and seeing who has been traded to what teams. Unfortunately, after about four years, I get bored with majority of players just being a number. I agree, no matter what settings you use, it's less fun once you're in the MLB. I usually end up just creating a new player and trying something different. Currently, I created a pure Knuckleballer And I'm having a lot of fun with this guy. There are a whole new series of commentator play by plays just for the Knuckleball.

To paraphrase Aerosmith, an MLB career is a journey, not a destination.
I’m with you, @eatyum.

I feel that way too. SDS needs to bring more immersion into RTTS. SDS thought adding challenges, relationships, and personalities was a good thing but it was the opposite.

Relationships is definitely off to a great start, I just hope it is expanded on further. Rivalries need to play more of a part.
I do love seeing the rivalry icon appear over a batter’s head after I strike him out, and the whole bench light up with bro icons after a clutch hit. That was a good addition in 20.

To me this whole personality thing is a total waste of time. I started playing RTTS in 2009 when you played baseball and not a bunch of other stuff. SDS keeps changing and adding things that either are unfinished like social media and agent or it ruins the game like archetypes and caps. I have always enjoyed creating players and bringing them up to the majors. I always hear about how we need more immersion. I think instead of adding all this garbage try having the player have to grind out some time in the minors and actually earn his way to the majors. This is my last year of buying this game. I can't enjoy it anymore. I like baseball, work up to the majors then try to break records but if all that happens in 3-4 seasons then yes it is boring.
