BR needs to be on hall of fame difficulty

The reason they will NEVER put BR in HOF: Lesser skilled players, me included, would NEVER pay to play on HOF settings.
They would lose money because people wouldn't be spending stubs and they wouldn't be buying stubs.
I don’t think people buy stubs to enter BR anyway, I really don’t see that as a consideration. It’s more that SDS are for dumbing down the game and allowing everyone to score 57 runs per game on 55 home runs and putting BR on HOF doesn’t fit that narrative.
I’m starting to think the devs are all in the “Huurr, durr, I crushed that ball” category, who only see the value in offense when playing baseball. This is what happens when your experience of real baseball is only shaped by 60 game seasons and watching quick pitch. You think every single AB should be like it is on TV. Except that’s a highlight reel you’re watching.

BR on HOF would make it actually fun imo

There's the general definition of competitive, where two people compete in a challenge of their skill. Then there's the videogame definition of competitive, where two people compete in a challenge where non-user factors are applied to result in a desired outcome.
Believe it or not, people spend lots of extra money playing this game. It's SDS's job to get them to spend as much as possible. If people feel like they don't have a chance, they are less likely to play and spend additional money.
So long as we the consumers allow this model of yearly cycles of fantasy game modes to remain profitable, the gameplay is going to continue to be designed to chase the $$$

I don’t think BR being low skill gap contributes to SDS making more money. People don’t buy anything to play br. Except for the 1500 stubs, which I doubt makes any difference. Ranked seasons and events are the real money makers. Because in those two modes people actually have to have a team, so they have to buy cards to fill that team. If anything, allowing bad players to compete in br makes them lose money because when people are able to compete in br, they make their stubs back. There’s a huge pay off for having success in br. So if mediocre players are able to have success due to the lack of a skill gap, they’re much less likely to buy stubs for their ranked team because they won’t need to buy stubs.

No company will ever close a game mode with some of the top cards/skins/packs to the majority of their player base. More people will be upset than happy and that loses money.
-
I'd be on board with this. Would make the trivial jump from AS to HoF less difficult cause i can just do a run or two for preparation.

All of those things are already closed to the majority of their player base bc the majority of their player base is never going 12-0 anyway so that point’s irrelevant.

In the handbook, br is described as “the most challenging and competitive game mode Diamond Dynasty has ever seen”. Seriously? That’s a major slap in the face to the top players that actually compete on the highest difficulty. That’s the actual comp, not 3 inning all star games.
The best word I can think of to describe AS difficulty is “mediocre”. AS difficulty generally seems to be hated by the majority of the community. The skill gap is greatly diminished on AS because of the massive PCI and slow pitch speeds. If they really want br to be “competitive” it would be at least HOF. Having it on AS makes br so luck oriented. It requires some level of luck to win 12 games in a row. But winning 12 games in a row on AS difficulty is more luck than skill in most cases.
Lmk your thoughts- ik id play br way more if it was on HOF. I think the mode has a lot of potential and it would be much more fun and challenging on hof rather than the most RNG based difficulty in the game.
While I would enjoy this I don’t think it’s a good idea for sds as there are probably a lot of casual gamers that want to jump into a quick three inning game and like the draft aspect of br etc. having it default to HOF May push them away.
I posted several months ago what I think is the best option. At the beginning of a run we should be able to choose the level we want to play on. If I choose HOF I will only go into a pool of other players who choose HOF for their run. Then you can even jump into a BR run on legend if you want to warm up before a ranked game. Rewards wouldn’t change and you can’t jump between levels during the same run. This would even potentially give weaker players a chance to advance a bit further in All star because it may level the competition. If a more skilled player tries to do a run on all star they would have to put up with all of the all star inconsistencies.
I doubt sds even saw the post but I think it would make br much more popular. -

Yea I assumed it could be a coding nightmare.

Having it on a lower difficulty and keeping some element of luck still brings the average player in. They have tournaments if you wanna play on HoF against the best of the best.

Even the true goons who are WS players and great at BR hate it being on allstar.
-
Soon online will have no place for anyone under a Hall of fame according to some people here and then SDS will lose money like mine

I see where you’re coming from but in a way, it gives everyone a chance to compete on AS really. I win alot more games on HOF than I do on AS. That says something
Describing a mode as “competitive” and wanting everyone to have a chance to compete is ridiculous. The players that would prefer AS difficulty never go 12-0 or win 12 games ever. So they really don’t compete. They may get lucky in a game or two but is that competing? That’s just wasting 1500 stubs. Events should be kept on AS for those that wanna feel good abt themselves for “competing” by getting bailed out by low skill gap settings
I agree keep events on All-Star and keep rest on HOF going to be honest BR makes me feel like I can hit everything and then

Events and ranked low levels of ranked will be your place. br is labeled as “competitive” and has the best rewards in the game so it should be skill based not luck based imo

There is a good argument... some want it nowhere

It’s the same reason Ford doesn’t target the top 1% of earners with their trucks. The top 1% doesn’t drive their sales, the 60k a year guy does. The same way the average player gets the most content geared towards them, they will never make it inaccessible.

I think there can be tiered rewards with tiered levels if possible but all for nothing seems like an odd strategy

What’s all for nothing?
