Online franchise

So after some googling it looks like 17 was the last year you could play online franchise. Me and a buddy are considering purchasing the game for $20 just to go back and play that feature. I know games turn online servers off and I’d have to believe 17s has been turned off by now. Would we still be able to play online franchise or no?

17s servers are still up and running, at least until June next year most likely. Hard to imagine they will turn them off next year if Custom Leagues in 21 hasn’t popped out an online franchise variation, but it would come down to the cost of running them vs the goodwill lost by turning them off.
