Foxx is a great bat, no doubt. But his defense is horrible! I hope that MLB 21 puts more emphasis on defense. Having said that, I think Pudge is hands down the best catcher in the game. His defense behind the plate is better than anyone with his arm strength, accuracy, and blocking. His bat is GREAT too!! He has plenty of contact and power, plus he has both the 'hitting machine' and 'bomber' quirks. I've been spending most of this ranked season grinding for Goose in the events, but in RS Pudge is hitting over 300 for me with plenty of XBH. For my money, Pudge is the best.

d'arnaud has been great for me since he came out, a couple bombs against both sides. his righty stats make his lefty stats look low but he rakes vs both. his defense is much better than foxx too and is much cheaper. ideally i'd love to have foxx but i picked kenley and don't have the stubs on hand for foxx, so d'arnaud is a close second

All the catchers have either great d or a good bat. I haven’t really been overly fond of most of them. I use Biggio at C, since he has decent d and I like his quick swing and speed. I can’t hit consistently with Posey and I never got Torre. Foxx’s bat is great, so if you’re ok with blah d at C, he’s the guy.

So, I was in the [censored] on Foxx at catcher camp. I just ran him in 4 RS games lastnight and honestly I was impressed. No past balls, throwing out runners wasn't an issue and he won me 2 of those games with RBI's and bombs. I'm keeping Posey on the bench for D later and as a bat against lefty's but pretty impressed with Foxx so far On paper his D should be awful but I haven't seen that yet.

    foxx hands down

Foxx can't through the ball to 2nd base and get it past the pitcher.

I'm not saying this is you but...

I love the people that say this and then say they'd much prefer Mike Piazza. Piazza has a worse arm

I have to say, posey was a disappointment when I first got him. Couldn’t hit anything. But last month he’s been one of my best hitters and he’s always been great defensively

I have Posey backing up Foxx now. He's not a wasted spot because of his bat against lefty's so I can hit with Foxx, then sub in Posey after pinch hitting for the pitcher against lefty's.

Again I want to stress I just played another game with Foxx at C. No problems at all. I was wrong aout him at C, he's cranking bombs left and right and outside of 1 runner getting to 1st after a strikeout passed ball there have been no issues.
