Random pitch outcome is not a big issue, happens in real life a lot. It’s just easier to hit in a video game. Otherwise walks would be a rarity if pitchers could locate all the time

Well, I think it is great that it is not an issue for you, but there has been lots of discussion about it on here throughout the year, regardless of your choice of input mode. It is most definitely an issue.

There has been..This issue though about a hanging pitch left over the heart of the plate, me personally its fine..Like Yank said It happens. Everything else you said was addressed in the streams ..Seen the new fielding thing? They also said input would matter this year as well as something's regarding what you mentioned that we all talked about in 19.. The streams have been good..They def pay attention to us as seen by cards released and the major gripes every one of us had..Think EA would? 2k??Naaa they just keep raping the consumers.. Those games if you want to be competitive, thousands of dollars and AND trash gameplay. Still hearing modes in 2k dont act right if at all.. Games like life are not perfect.. This game AND specifically SDS deserve kudos cause 19 was dope asf. Content [censored] near till 20..What sport games doing that for us fam?

Realistically there are pitchers who pitch by controlling the zone with great command or someone who just throws that relies on their nasty repertoire. Yes you should be able to command your pitches well if you have someone with great control. I don’t mean dotting every single pitch right where you want it but I shouldn’t have great input and throw BP. If I’m throwing low and away with great input while using a pitcher who has great command, it should be somewhere low and away. Not in the middle, not up, somewhere low and away.

I’m seeing lots of excited posts about new content, players in the game this year, new modes, new rewards, etc.

I’m not seeing much talk about the gameplay issues that we’ve spent much of the last year discussing on here.

You know the topics: incessant foul balls, line outs, random pitch outcomes, fielding issues with elite defenders.

I too am excited about Juan Pierre and Mickey Mantle, but has there been much said in the streams regarding any of these known gameplay issues?

I’m going to back pedal a bit on what I said earlier; switched from pulse to meter, and there is definitely a big difference. You have less touch on the ball with pulse, which I miss, but there’s a lot less mistakes being made. Meter is easy to have the guy just lay it in there.

I can’t really comment specifically because we agreed not to. But I will say I think if you didn’t play the beta you will be more content then in games past with these issues. Might you expect some line outs? Maybe some locations missed based on confidence and pitcher attributes? Sure. But I don’t think it will be game breaking like in games past.

Foul balls were my biggest issue of 19. I think this is something that was addressed to the best of their ability.. this game is really mostly going to come down to player skill. There will be times ppl get on base and even score and maybe it was a series of bad hits but again i dont think it’s an ISSUE like in games past. It’s things you’ll be able to come back from based on your skill.

I personally was never too annoyed by the lineouts alone it was the combo of perfect inputs by one team getting botched and bad inputs by the other getting rewarded. That’s gone. The game is way better. Pitching is back. I think ppl can have confidence this will be a balanced game.

My concern is still the lower difficulties because I only played on HOF but we shall see.

Yeah, the combination of lineouts with pitcher confidence was what really gets me. If you let someone like Madbum get cozy, it can really impact the game.

I did play the beta so I guess I can’t really comment further.

The elephant is that feeling that the game keeps the score close for the sake of keeping the obviously inferior player hopeful that they can win. Will the opponent who pops out and whiffs all game long get hit by a pitch by your 99 closer and then advance to second on a passed ball in the final inning of seemingly every game this year?

Not much to talk about until the game comes out and we can see what's what.

A perfect input pitch should never hit the heart of the plate and be a hanger, sorry. Anyone arguing for that needs to check themselves.

Check yourself before you wreck yourself

Even though it is frustrating at times, I don't have any qualms about not being able to hit my spot, even on perfect pitches. Should a perfect pitch be very close to where I set the location? Absolutely. Should a perfect pitch move towards the center of the plate or hang? Absolutely not. But the control portion of the pitcher's stats should really coincide with user input. If I have bad timing with a wild pitcher that is understandable. If I have perfect timing with Maddux, it should be pretty much on spot.
