Of course the user can see it, but to represent the actual sport of baseball and the players you are controlling, outcomes need to be determined more heavily on the players actual abilities. User input should all be about decision making with individual players abilities. A lot of players struggled against marionas fastball, that needs to be represented in the game.
I think the game should be 90% user input. I feel like the last few years it’s been about 60% which leaves to way too much chance.

Difference of opinion I suppose. I want a realistic, authentic baseball experience. You want an arcade type game where it’s all about you and the controller. That’s fine, but sim nation is strong.

From what SDS said in one of there streams pitchers with a dominant pitch will have a quirk. I think its called outliner
Makes fastball faster, cutters cut more etc. So I think he'll be fine.That quirk is only for guys that regularly top 100 on the gun. I don't think Rivera will have that, but I do think they make his cutter nasty.
That's what I was saying. It's not only for fastballs going faster from what SDS said it affects their primary pitch.

I think that his higher diamond card will be juiced. His 87 however is something that really is going to depend on his speed differential and pitch selection. Maddux is the same in my opinion. I have a feeling both of them will get rocked

Per fangraphs Mariano threw a Four-seam, two-seam, and his famous cutter. So his 87 is essentially going to be a pretty easy to see card

Everyone should have a digital bat and they need to stand in their living room trying to hit. If they can't physically hit it themselves with proper form then "get good". Let's step up the skill gap. It would take into account bat speed and you'd have to use an actually weight bat. So you can choose like a 34/32 or if you're a twerp you can opt for a 30/21. Then the bat will just break in half and a hand will come through the screen and point and laugh.

Yea but it's not a realistic bat where you actually need to produce realistic swing speeds. Vegetables can sit in a chair and flick their wrist and hit home runs. Since we're talking skill I'd like people to actually show some physical skill

...and that's exactly why I think people are over-exaggerating quite a bit with this idea that Rivera will be bad. When I pitch with Jansen, I throw his cutter about 85% of the time and he was my best pitcher all year in The Show 19.
Considering Mariano Rivera's cutter is considered the best ever, I would think SDS would make it a high priority to get it right.
