My question here, being first year DD player, does SDS typically release cards for award winning (MVP, Cy, etc.) after they are announced for that year? For example, we haven't seen a high overall freeman, betts, bauer, etc. and wondering if maybe they are waiting til awards are announced next month before they release of these?

This is the first year that they have released Awards series cards, so I am not entirely sure. They usually release a finest card about that player who won an award

That makes sense... although for the braves, its almost hard to pick. Ozuna could be finest, Fried (not likely since he gets a 98 today) or freeman could easily take those honors

I didn't know that this was the first year of awards cards! I BARELY did any DD last year, and just had a basic team. 🙂

Before Awards, there was a card type called 'Hardware'. In order to qualify for it, you had to win MVP, Cy Young, or ROY for that particular year.

2017: MVPs and Cys (Stanton, Altuve, Scherzer, Kluber) all received Finest cards. Judge received Pre-Order 99 (because he was on next year's cover) and Bellinger got 💩 .

2018: MVPs and Cys (Mookie, Yelich, Snell, deGrom) all received Finest cards. Shohei got a Future Star and Acuna got another 💩 .

2019: Belinger, DeGrom, Alvarez, and Alonso received Finest. Trout got a Signature card. Verlander was the 3rd Inning Boss.

im really surprised Acuna hasnt got a high diamond card yet for his almost 40/40 season.

I wasn't sure if they would wait to drop the awards cards as content for next year. 🙂

They usually do a series called Finest, which is the best live series players from the season. Assuming they will do that again this year, that’s where you can expect 99 Betts, Freeman, etc.

A lot of people have speculated those may be the Team Affinity 4 rewards, which isn’t too crazy to imagine.

If it will make money...I wouldn't put it past them

Freeman won't be a Finest, he will probably get an MVP card. IF he wins, which he should.

2020 SDS has broken all kinds of patterns, I'd expect anything at this point.

No it isn’t, in previous years those cards were called hardware cards. They are the exact same as those cards just a different name
