Now if you want more do to as an offline user stop complaining and send in detail ideas. Complaining with out giving a solution is wasted breath. I have not seen anything on how they should make a new offline 9 inning mode.

You haven't seen me post then. I've been pushing for a DD Season mode for nearly a year. It's basically a single-player Custom League except it has rewards, counts as DD for Team Affinity & Daily missions, and doesn't require exploiting a loophole to play.

Yeah, I was about to mention that someone, wasn't sure who, but I guess it was you that has talked about an offline version of RS.

How about playing vs ultimate team CPU. So imagine a mode where you played against the computer that uses all the best cards of that team, so you are playing the all time Yankees and they have Ruth, Mantle, Gehrig, Yogi, etc., obviously they would have to mix in LS cards to fill out the full roster. That would be more of a challenge than just playing against the LS cards of each team.

but putting them out of reach for those offline players pushes them away.

I'm a mostly-offliner and I was able to acquire every purchasable card in the game, including Chipper, Babe, Kimbrell, Gagne: the whole lot of them.

You CAN do it. The question is: how bad do you want to?

No, the question is, "What do you do with all of those great cards?" The only mode any fun to use them is conquest, and for that you definitely do not need those cards. It is a waste of time and/or money for offline players to bother with collecting DD cards. SDS needs to give offline players something more to do with their DD team.

I mean... it's supposed to be an online mode, that's where their focus is..

Ok. So then offline players should not play DD. Is that your suggestion?

If you think there's nothing to do for offline players then yes?

That is my suggestion too. Stop playing DD if you are an offline player until SDS gives offline players more to do with their cards.

Or just play online like the mode is built for

The premise is offline players. Sure, you can change the premise to "just play online", but then you are not an offline only player and there is no discussion.

not to stack on Skepple here but he is right - DD is an online mode - if you don't like there is plenty offline stuff to do

Yes there is plenty of "stuff" to do, but not with your DD collection of cards, which players like to collect and use in some fashion. Some like to use them online and some like to use them offline. Saying, "play the way I like to play", does not help. If SDS wants DD to be online only, then they should make it online only, and yet there is offline play in DD so that everyone is tempted to buy stubs. If they want to continue that, then they need to expand offline play with a persons collection. Stop trying to have it both ways and ignoring offline players. Make it online only and then there will be nothing for offline players to complain about.

i understand you are upset about this. i am not here to gaslight anything. i just think that DD is an online mode always was, and is a core of the way DD plays. however you and SDS grow the offline - that sounds great for you guys. i would hate to see DD online anything sacrificed, and i welcome the idea of MORE online only rewards (like the events of 2019 earning after so many W's etc.)

I think here is where some fights on here tend to break out. Some people feel that catering to offline players is going to take away resources spent on fixing, improving, or implementing new things for online players. Such as perhaps a separate RS that is more competitive, where user input is more and there is virtually no RNG and have to use the same hitting interface. So those "online people" hate the thought of an online game making things more offline and exchanges get heated.

Every one wants to play DD their own way and I think every one should be allowed to do that without being told by others that they are wrong or that it isnt meant to be played that way.

I did float another idea at one point (likely on the old TSN forum) that had that as an element. It was a playoff-like mode where your team plays in a bracket against other teams in an attempt to come out on top. Much like new Conquest Maps get released, new brackets would have different opposing teams, difficulties, and maybe even lineup restrictions. It could progress to the end of the cycle where you're up against the all-time lineups of each team.

I hate online play with a passion, but I will fight for you guys to have a a separate RS that has less RNG, because I support you guys in your endeavor to have more things your way. I dont think catering to one side or the other is a big deal, they are trying to make all of us happy. It's a nearly impossible task, but they try.

I just want to say, I don't agree that DD is supposed to be an only online mode. Offline players have their place (I am mostly online, so I get where the online people are coming from, but I disagree)

However, it seems the major complaint is offline players don't have much to do with their DD teams.
    Lets exam this.

What Online players can do with their DD teams - Ranked seasons, events. That's it.

What Offline players can do with their DD teams - Conquest, Play vs Cpu, (Some moments, not enough imo, but hopefully they expand on that this year).

So it's not like Online has a wealth of modes to use their DD teams compared to offline.

Those aren't the least bit comparable. RS has meaning and rewards. Vs. CPU has neither.

You’re not wrong, but RS has a goal and rewards while vs. CPU has none. You can make minimal progress towards the xp reward path or inning program, but those things can be done everywhere else in the game.

I think people just want a structured way to play 9 inning games offline in DD, not just random meaningless games.

What Offline players can do with their DD teams - Conquest, Play vs Cpu, (Some moments, not enough imo, but hopefully they expand on that this year).

So it's not like Online has a wealth of modes to use their DD teams compared to offline.

The Complaint is no offline mode for 9 inn games except vs CPU. Nothing close to what RS is for Online players.

Online has no 9 inning mode besides RS. So offline has play vs cpu, online has ranked. Each only has one 9 inning mode.

Wrong, Online players can play friends as a casual game HTH

I just want to say, I don't agree that DD is supposed to be an only online mode. Offline players have their place (I am mostly online, so I get where the online people are coming from, but I disagree)

However, it seems the major complaint is offline players don't have much to do with their DD teams.
    Lets exam this.

What Online players can do with their DD teams - Ranked seasons, events. That's it.

What Offline players can do with their DD teams - Conquest, Play vs Cpu, (Some moments, not enough imo, but hopefully they expand on that this year).

You’re not wrong, but RS has a goal and rewards while vs. CPU has none. You can make minimal progress towards the xp reward path or inning program, but those things can be done everywhere else in the game.

And I agree with that, but reading through this thread, but people in this have said things like "Yes there is plenty of "stuff" to do, but not with your DD collection of cards"
Which is not true, offline has as many modes as online. Technically speaking, using that quote, there is as much offline as online.

Is it as good? No, but it seems many people have been arguing that online has so much more to do.

They could have gave the innings grind offline stat missions, it look like they were only online. They set the level you must play at AS or higher.

I am not about complainers but I am about ideas and solutions for online and offline. I do think every card should be available to all users, Majority cards that are earned Online can be sold. I do not think the Prestige cards (Red Diamonds) can be sold on the market.

Obviously there’s stuff to do offline, but there’s much less things to work towards while using your DD team.

If SDS would’ve just implemented stat grinds available to do offline, I think people would’ve been a lot happier. They could’ve just given people stat missions for conquest, like in the 11th inning program at least.

Even if you jack up the requirements, I'd bet there are still plenty of H2H players who would play versus the CPU as the path of least resistance, leading back to the MLB 18 problem.

Besides which, even opening up the prestige stat missions to offline wouldn't be a selling point to me. That's too much like what was in 17 and 18. I'd much rather have meaningful games than meaningful tasks in meaningless games.

The problem was that 18 it was to much of offline for me I rarely played online cause of the stat missions. If you had say get 25 hits online with player A. made it 125 or 200 offline which would actually be easier. I play both. I would do the online. They could make the user lock in the choice where you can not do both. 25 hits online you get 5 stars and for 200 offline you get 2 stars. Those who really hate online it would take them awhile to accomplished like it did in 18 but not as long if you do it online.

This is not about me or about you it is about what is best for everyone. How can SDS make it good for everyone who loves playing DD.
