Just because someone got a prospect card doesn't automatically mean they're gonna get a FS card.
Be happy they got cards AT ALL. Prior to 2020, they wouldn't have.
You hate FS cards or something?
Dunno bout him, but I do.
These 94+ Overall cards that are on par with, and in many cases, surpassing legends of the game, is ridiculous.
They may show glimpses of greatness, but to make these cards endgame is too much, for me anyways.
I would cap them at 89 tops.
I understand your perspective.
I personally enjoy the cards, the cart art is nice and maybe it'll make people research and learn more about the prospects coming up the pipeline.
Also the ratings thing, the FS cards are not a focal point in the market at all, you have all of these TN cards with inflated/insane stats that absolutely surpass legends. We're talking replacement level journeymen getting 100+ power stats, so can't be too mad about a prospect with a super high ceiling and bright future getting their own inflated stats. Just my opinion.
I agree with this. I like the new players instead of the same ones every year. And I agree that the topps now cards are way more skewed than these. There are guys that have pure trash LS cards with mid to high 90s topps now cards literally because of one day in the season.

Lux would definitely qualify but I personally think of him as being around too long for one. Just like Kyle Lewis I personally see guys playing in their second season in the majors (even though still technically rookies) as having moved beyond the whole future stars thing. Other may disagree but I think of it as being for prospects.

Looks at Gavin Lux's prospect card, scratches head...

100% agree. I always thought that was a bit of a head scratcher. Only thing I could think of was it came out before the season started so maybe it was more reasonable at that time.

Since the minor league games were cancelled this year, they're going to select from the Little League World Series.
Gimme Big Al to hit some dingers

Gotta problem with that too. Anything that's not based on a career, or at the very least several years.
I know that I'm in the minority on this though, so just grin and bear it.

I want a Bryce Harper retro-future star from his sophomore year in high school. All attributes are at 200.

I love the prospect and future stars cards. I enjoy collecting cards on The Show and getting to actually play with them but my wife and son are really into the traditional card collecting. They were opening some Bowman cards 1 day which are now the top young players rookie cards it was so cool actually recognizing a lot of them and being able to tell them which players got rated the highest and who I enjoyed using. I started playing last year and really love this game and the addition of these cards has done nothing but make the game better due to more lineup diversity and make all of us more aware of who to be on the lookout for.

It's simply supply and demand, at the begining of the year you could get Gavin Lux's prospect card for 15/20k because there were lots of prospect packs being given out, now he's a rarer card and his price has skyrocketed to about 50k, the same can be said for the other prospect cards like Luis Robert and Nate Pearson.
If we start seeing those packs again the prices might come down.

I think you misread the post. We weren’t talking about the price of the card, rather why he got a prospect card in the first place because he’d already been played in the majors last year.

Still waiting on guys like Franco, Rutchsman, Kelenic, Gore, and Witt Jr.
I'd like to get a Kopech as well; especially considering he got a Prospects card.

Since the minor league games were cancelled this year, they're going to select from the Little League World Series.
This would make sense considering there are little leaguers who could make plays that for whatever reason, professionals just cannot.
Having sense of urgency of getting rid of the ball on close plays, and the ability to tag out runners would be a couple good examples.
