the title says it all.....i am at my wits end with this moment...i don't know what more I can do to try and complete this. I have tried multiple batting zone cameras and I just can't square anything up.
I'm a directional hitter and I am beginning to wonder if this moment is not doable using directional hitting. I would love to try using zone, but unfortunately I don't have the dexterity for it....i have tried and tried and tried to learn it, but I just can't do it, so unfortunately I am relegated to using directional and it seems to me (however unlikely) that directional has been somehow nullified for this moment. Because even influencing a fly ball, I seem to only hit grounders and low liners, rarely any flyballs, its just frustrating as hell as i can't figure out what it is I'm doing wrong....anyway, I apologize for the umpteenth post like this, but just needed to vent.

Just power swing.
-
tried that and I just seem to pop it up....for some reason, my timing has gone to ship on this moment. Thahks for the advise though I really appreciate it
-
Zone hitting is the only way you will be able to get it done, your odds of getting a meatball facing a sinkerballer are really low. You might be able to do it with directional but will take a long time.

If I do try using zone, any tips on where I should sit?, because as I mentioned, I don't have the dexterity to chase locations using zone

For Yelich I mostly kept the PCI down and waited for a sinker in the area and used power swing. I failed it a bunch the first day. Came back the 2nd day and got it after a few tries.

How far down? Right to the bottom? Also what's the best batters eye to use? I use sz2 for the most part

I mean I wasn’t shoving it down out of the zone, but looking for a pitch in the zone, just above the knees I guess. I have been hitting on SZ2 all year and did the Moments on that. Just made the switch to regular SZ to test out.

I was completely lucky on this one. I did it on the second try... using zone, and just "normal" swings. In 3 consecutive ABs, I got 3 pitches down the middle. Again, complete luck, but this one is "doable". Never had to move the PCI.
I won't bore you with how many attempts I took to complete the Lou Gehrig moment...

I have been hitting on SZ2
I use SZ2 as well.

Thanks everyone for the tips and help, I truly appreciate it

Good luck man. That one and the Gehrig one we’re really frustrating. But just focus up and you’ll get it eventually.

Best advice I can give is that Hudson is a sinker ball pitcher, which means he will naturally want to work his pitches low in the zone.
Start with your PCI in the lower half of the strike zone before each pitch. If he goes low, you don't have to move the PCI much and you can generally square one up. If he hangs the over the middle, you'll be in a good spot move the PCI up a smidge and get some loft on the ball.
Lastly, I'd just use contact swing. I found that power swinging was giving me false confidence and I chased more pitches.
Good luck man. Stick with it. You'll get it eventually.

Anything above All-Star is hard for directional hitters. If you can't learn zone hitting then learn analog with flick, I am a zone hitter and finish that moment using zone but most of my mission against the cpu I do use analog just to make my life easier.

I did it with directional. Just pull the ball.
I had a hard time with Gehrig. I used zone for him

I’m having more trouble with the Higashioka topps now moment than this one......

Just straight pull or flyball pull?

Thanks again for the tips everyone, unfortunately i just can't seem to implement them, and I just can't justify another 300 plus attempts at this. Despite this being the only moment I need for pearson....just have to resign myself to never completing it, nor getting lou as i absolutely dispise showdown. Anyway, thanks again everyone, you've all been awesome and so kind to help and give me your advice. I am tremendously grateful to you all

There is no reason to power swing, X is fine. Sit a little low with the PCI and look for something middle up. He's got enough power you don't have to be perfect with the PCI.
You can do it!
