Right now I'm rolling Cobb Trout and Mantle and Walker went to the bench. I'll really have a problem when Mays arrives. He is a Giants and all LOL
-
I haven’t been great with Mantle but he has gotten some big hits on legend difficulty that the others could not during this extreme program.

I actually hit 3 HR's with Mantle to beat Pearson on the HOF moment. Guess I just pushed the X button at the right time lol

That is all.
I sold Cobb for 120K when I got him thinking he would drop in price. Hasn't yet. Hoping he does when they release the new player program this Fri.
If not, I may have to pay a premium to get him back.
I think he will only go up, because A) he's so good and people are starting to realize B) most people reached 300 stars now and they've made their picks and decisions to keep or sell and C) some people will lock him in for the next inning program so the availability will go down.
Yeah. I'm afraid that next inning they'll finally release Pujols or Griffey; which will make all 3 of the 8th Inning bosses rise.
I have about 440K now and another 200K that I can get from selling off some investments that may not pan out.
There isn't anyone I need for my team, other than Griffey and maybe that 99 Trout.
I wanted Awards Rickey, but when I used him in BR, I went like 0-12. Nit a big sample size; but enough to reconsider his price. Plus if I buy back Cobb, I can move Mantle to LF and put FOTF Brock on the bench.
But getting back to my stubs.
-
Do you think some of these players (8th Inning bosses, HRD player, and Prospect Pack) will come down a little when they release these Run It Back cards?
-
Should I just buy back Cobb now and use the rest to get what I need for Trout (would take all my stubs)
-
Or just buy all 3 8th Inning bosses and hope the 9th inning has some fire? (And would you start Awards Pudge over Sig Biggio?
Hard to say. I would definitely buy Cobb back asap though if you plan on using him for sure. I picked Kershaw with my own 300 stars pick who I'll be keeping, but I don't care for Pudge and I don't think it's worth locking them in at this stage of the year.
If you haven't completed Extreme program, I would highly encourage to do that. It's not AS hard as it seems (challenging but not impossible), and they give you very good pack rewards that will make you stubs. I think all and all I made about 350K on the pack rewards only, rolled a few rare rounds.
Not sure I want to deal with the Extreme Program right now.
None of those players will make my team. I know there's packs you can obtain; but my pack luck has been horrible this year.
I would hate to go through the hassel (still can't complete the 7th and 8th inn Showdowns);to come away with junk pulls.
Plus I still need to complete 4-5 of the TN Moments to get progress towards Tatis and I haven't even started the Babe Program.
I don't know who you have at SS right now, but that Tatis.......man, I loved Rollins, but Tatis replaced him straight out. He's not a switchie, but it doesn't seem to matter.
Ironically I have Rollins. Who's already locked in; so if I replace him, he'll go on my bench since I can't sell him.
But what I need to figure out us if Tatis is '200K in locked in stubs' better than Rollins.

Rollins was ok for me, but Tatis has been on another level in terms of power.

I actually replaced Hornsby with Tatis at 2B. And kept Rollins at SS.

Yeah Cobb is hitting .568 with over 12 hrs in the past week and a half I've had him. Pleasantly surprised. I moved him to left so I could try Walker, but Musial might sub back in.
Side note: There are too many good outfielders to play with. For the longest time I was completely happy with the Betts LS, J.D. Martinez awards and Acuna L.S. as my outfield. They were all over 60 home runs. Then once I grinded out Mantle I felt like I had to give him a try.
It's kind of why I think there is too much content out there....only so many spots and innings you can play. I'd be perfectly fine with 2 new players a week. Ex topps now, Moment and inning program on different weeks.
About too much content: I will say that no two teams I face in ranked have even remotely the same lineup.

Well, I am almost thru Conquest to get Pearson and have two moments done...but those Yelich and Gehrig ones seem so daunting, having a hard time getting the excitement to do them a zillion times to get their this to Gehrig
Yeah those two moments with Yelich and Gehrig are tedious, but the rest is very manageable. I think it's worth completing the program for the packs alone, Gehrig is a nice bonus. I don't care too much Yelich and Pearson, but many people seem to love Yelich.
Thanks for the vote of confidence you have given in this post... I actually just hit three homers with Yelich in my first attempt ( went 5-5 with 3rd homer in bottom of 6th)... I just sat middle in ignoring all other pitches until two strikes.
2 moments left, showdown done, conquest almost done...I just may do this after all

Aside from the Meta God-Squad, this is true

I dont think he will. I sold him for 167k when I got him and bought him back for 122k. Once people see that he probably has the best swing in the game and hits EVERYTHING hard, they arent gonna part with him.
-
Yeah. I have a feeling if I want him back I'll have to pay extra. Fingers crossed he drops a little when those 'Run it Back' packs are released.
-
I have Walker in RF and he's been pretty much my best hitter, I love his card. I am very curious to pick up Cobb though and give him a try. I was waiting for his price to drop too but after reading some posts on here it sounds like some dont think it will. Got me wondering now if I should just pull the trigger.

Well, yes with a qualifier, Cobb cannot replace Walker in Right, his arm is too weak, but if you have Trout and Mantle (or whoever) you just move Cobb to left. Walker is a stud though and honestly I'm tempted to put him back in right and pull Trout after I knock out his prestige.
