Not that bold IMO. People were just using Babe vs Lou comparison as an excuse for not doing extreme

My guess was that most people would just look at the attributes and conclude Babe is better. But Gehrig has a better swing (I carried over that opinion from last year), and Gehrig has that sweet 6ft strike zone.

Yeah I agree completely. Gehrig was easily the best first baseman last year (besides Foxx, but you know, BR reward). People refused to use anyone but Frank last year because he was free. Same goes with Babe this year. Only way Gehrig won’t be my 1B for the rest of the year is if Foxx doesn’t have a C secondary(or I’ll just play Foxx at 3rd and 99 Chipper can ride the pine this year)

I am not good enough to get Gehrig but I would agree about Cobb. He crushes for me. Quite surprising really

Which part of Extreme are you struggling with?
-
Yeah Cobb is hitting .568 with over 12 hrs in the past week and a half I've had him. Pleasantly surprised. I moved him to left so I could try Walker, but Musial might sub back in.
Side note: There are too many good outfielders to play with. For the longest time I was completely happy with the Betts LS, J.D. Martinez awards and Acuna L.S. as my outfield. They were all over 60 home runs. Then once I grinded out Mantle I felt like I had to give him a try.
It's kind of why I think there is too much content out there....only so many spots and innings you can play. I'd be perfectly fine with 2 new players a week. Ex topps now, Moment and inning program on different weeks.

I sold Cobb for 120K when I got him thinking he would drop in price. Hasn't yet. Hoping he does when they release the new player program this Fri.
If not, I may have to pay a premium to get him back.

I think he will only go up, because A) he's so good and people are starting to realize B) most people reached 300 stars now and they've made their picks and decisions to keep or sell and C) some people will lock him in for the next inning program so the availability will go down.

Yeah. I'm afraid that next inning they'll finally release Pujols or Griffey; which will make all 3 of the 8th Inning bosses rise.
I have about 440K now and another 200K that I can get from selling off some investments that may not pan out.
There isn't anyone I need for my team, other than Griffey and maybe that 99 Trout.
I wanted Awards Rickey, but when I used him in BR, I went like 0-12. Nit a big sample size; but enough to reconsider his price. Plus if I buy back Cobb, I can move Mantle to LF and put FOTF Brock on the bench.
But getting back to my stubs.
-
Do you think some of these players (8th Inning bosses, HRD player, and Prospect Pack) will come down a little when they release these Run It Back cards?
-
Should I just buy back Cobb now and use the rest to get what I need for Trout (would take all my stubs)
-
Or just buy all 3 8th Inning bosses and hope the 9th inning has some fire? (And would you start Awards Pudge over Sig Biggio?
-
Yeah prices are skyrocketing this week. Rivera, Walker and Ortiz are eclipsing 200k. I got nervous with Ortiz and did a but it now at 200k. Last night. I know it's an over pay but it was the last one available.
-
Cobb was a top 3 card last year and the only card I ever spent more the 100k to aquire.
Also if you have Cobb Trout and Mantel in the outfield nothing will drop so dont complain if you get beat by Homeruns cause that is the only way to score.

Honestly if you want some fire, put your resources towards 99 Trout, If it were me he'd take priority over acquiring any other outfielder, just my 2 cents.

Mays and Honus are more likely to be 9th inning bosses. Pujols and Griffey were bosses last year and they haven’t repeated any in 8 innings

Hard to say. I would definitely buy Cobb back asap though if you plan on using him for sure. I picked Kershaw with my own 300 stars pick who I'll be keeping, but I don't care for Pudge and I don't think it's worth locking them in at this stage of the year.
If you haven't completed Extreme program, I would highly encourage to do that. It's not AS hard as it seems (challenging but not impossible), and they give you very good pack rewards that will make you stubs. I think all and all I made about 350K on the pack rewards only, rolled a few rare rounds.
-
I couldn't hit with Gehrig last year, but I'm weird because I've also never been able to hit with a Griffey card so.... to me Babe is better.
Cobb though was insane last year and started slow this year, but helped carry me to WS and is hitting great now, I'm not sure I would call him top 3, but there def is a case for him.
-
Since Cobb and his 99 speed 99 bunt got me through the god squad game that for some reason I randomly couldn't hit pearson I will have a special place on my squad for him. Just after seeing the cards from the new pack though if we get something like a Mays or Griffey out of it then I'll have some problems

Swings are always very personal. For example, if Mantle wasn't a switch hitter, I would have probably benched him because I don't think his swing is top tier.
-
Ty Cobb has quickly become my favorite card ... what a baller in the leadoff spot.
-
So safe to say Cobb > Walker?
