Wow..there is literally no defense or explanation for that lol. That's so inconsistent it hurts.

Look at Dom Smith. Been batting over 300 all season, leads the league in doubles last i checked. Ops over 1.000 and he just finally got upgraded to gold

They've always had inconsistencies and have a tendency to not reflect real play. This year, who knows...I haven't kept up with real baseball as closely as I usually do, so I don't know how accurate/inaccurate they are.
I know a few years ago, I did a pretty deep dive comparing like 4 pitchers. They all had very similar career stats, peripherals, etc., but one never went above a silver (and if I recall correctly was actually the best of the ones I looked at in that particular season), and one was a diamond, and the others were gold. Then, I posted something about it either on here or on reddit and it did not lead to constructive conversation. At all.

In 12 less innings, Ryu has 0.5 more rWAR than Cole, yet Cole is 8 ovrs higher.

Kwang-Hyun Kim got a good upgrade to 75 but the fact he was down at a 72 at all is laughable. 0.83 in 5 starts since entering the rotation. 8-1 overall...

D’Arnaud has way better stats and 3 year average than will Smith. But smith goes gold. Swanson has had a bad week, but he should have been good weeks ago, he’s got better stats than Croneworth who went gold after no time.

Can anyone explain why Seth Lugo with a 4.40 era is a diamond? Did he earn a Topps moment and they accidentally changed his live series instead of adding a moment card?

Probably because his horrible game on Sept 15th came after the Sept 11th roster update and they forgot about him on the 18th roster update?

He only became a diamond because he got switched to a starter (K/9 and H/9 have different thresholds between starters and relievers). and that was before his rough game
