I need advice, lol, because I cannot hit against Cueto on HOF for the life of me. I would like to have some good cards for a bargain that can help me beat this program.

By a bargain, I mean 56,000 stubs or less.

Greatly appreciate your suggestions on First Baseman, BTW! 😊

If you can pitch a shutout or a 1 run game I would say just stack your team with speed guys, drag bunt and steal. Against a human opponent i would never suggest that but against the cpu go ahead and cheese it up.

Dang, if it were a snake it would've bit me. Been bunting a lot against Cueto and I've gotten two runs. Thanks!! 👍 😊

Is being out after a foul bunt at 2 strikes an actual thing in baseball? Or was it just made up for the purpose of the sim?

That's been a rule forever, if you bunt with 2 strikes and it's foul your out.

That is the rule, and it's been around since the early 1900s. Before that, players could purposefully bunt at pitches to extend their at bats until they got a pitch they wanted.

Dwight Evans is a murderer.... homered in each game I faced him. One was a grand slam that caused a restart.

    1. Take pitches. The pitchers in those moments throw wild.
    2. High contact, high speed lineup. Many people bunt cheesed through them. I did not, but I did use a very fast, very contact centered lineup.
    3. Control pitching > Fireballers. And adding to that, keep the CPU batters on a rocking horse. High heat, low off-speed. Repeat. I also suggest never bringing Chapman, Dibble, Wagner, or anyone else like that out of the pen. Everytime I did, I'd give up HR after HR.

Second this! I pitched with Maddux the whole way through. I did, however, occasionally use Dibble or Chapman. Mainly though it was Romo out of the pen!!! Good luck the grind is absolutely worth it!!!

For the 6 inning games, I restarted if I didn't score at least one run in the 1st. I was able to get Babe last night after about five evenings of games..

I have found that Eck is a good card to bring in for your bullpen arm. Right handers throw slider away and they will chase.

My suggestion is (if you have him) to use Kluber and paint he corners with his cutter...that worked for me...also, be really patient

I found the HoF games way easier to do that the All-Star ones.

Just be patient (the usual) and use the normal swing, not the power or contact.

When pitching, keep the ball low and you'll do it.

I'm doing the HOF games first, to get the pain over with, lol. Just do what I'm doing—bunt with high speed & steal guys.

Then just use your pitcher through the third inning, then break out your relievers. I've found that if you keep your starting pitcher in, the AI will have seen your pitches and will try to hit the ball out. Just prevent runs.

Take lots of pitches. As an example, in the final NL game against Maddux I walked 13 times in 5 innings (I was up by 8 and bunted in the 6th). In the AL game against Scott (I cannot hit his splitter on HoF), I walked 9 times and won 6-0. The CPU simply has awful control on HoF.

This is solid advice. I would also say to make sure you have a good defensive squad, because you’re not going to strike the CPU out constantly. Guys like Mattingly and Jimmy Rollins came up huge for me, both at the plate and in the field. For pitching, I did really well with Mike Scott. Those sinkers really kept the ball in the yard.

Awful control? Tell me about it, I got hit twice the last game, and even walked with guys I don't usually walk with.
