They have the action of a sinker all off whack this year.

A sinker is essentially a 4 seam just held slightly different to get the sinking action, or sometimes slight throwing arm side movement. But it will still have similar velo or maybe 2-4 mph slower at most. So if anything most hitters are early on sinkers, not late, they just end up swinging over the break or it runs in on them a bit, or slightly away depending on the handiness.

But on this game for some reason a sinker looks like an offspeed pitch, curve ball or changeup, out of the hand. So we end up late on them a lot because of the slight hesitation to sit back. A sinker would never appear that way IRL. It would look like a straight FB out of the pitchers hand and fool you with the LATE breaking sink or throwing arm side break.

Yeah. The sinker in this game is way out of hand. When a sinker is up in the zone, that ball is supposed to be deposited in the seats.
In baseball a sinker high is a mistake pitch. In the show, its the best pitch.

Im 41. I've played baseball since i was 8 years old right into hardball. I've pitched since i was 10 years old. Played two years of college ball in Michigan division two. I still pitch now! I throw 4 seam, 2 seam, cutter, sinkers!! Change up! Splitter! But I also throw 3 different 4 seamers!! At least 2 different 2 seamers! My sinker i keep left finger on one seam for movement low and in to right! Then other middle finger to other seam with first finger off the other seam, for it to sink away from RHH or into lefties!. Most sinkers have that nice slight drop and using will slight break in or away based on the pitchers arm slot! Action and how they actually hold the ball and how much pressure they put with there fingers! So in mlb 20 the sinkers don't really move naturally! Realistic. But its a video game! Curves suck!! Cutters are inconsistent! Change ups hang! Its just a broken pitching year and it sucks because perfect perfect is great for hitting. They need perfect perfect pitching! But they need to fix curvballs! And change ups. And tweak the sinker!! Just my two cents
