Abreu just went 4-4 w/ 3 HRs and a walk. That’s gotta mean he’ll get a hot ‘n beefy TN this week, right? So pretty soon we should have 3 super juiced White Sox 1B. (I imagine that means we’ll have a moment that requires 3 XBH, but I’ll cross that bridge when we get there).

It's so much fun to watch that team. I feel like Abreu is having more fun than ever now that he has some serious talent around him, and it definitely shows.

I like that Rizzo asked for the ball as a milestone when he was finally retired.

I agree about Abreu's new surrounding talent. But he was older for a rookie at 27 years in 2014, and led MLB in slugging percentage that year. Had he developed like that starting at the age of 21 or 22, we could be looking at Jose Abreu as one of the best hitters in the game over the 2010's and an eventual hall of famer, but he's not thought of that way. Since his rookie season, he's at 33 HR and 111 RBIs for his 162 game averages. I think the Cubs' success around 2016 prevented a lot of eyes on Abreu in the same city.

I don't think the White Sox or even Abreu himself are worried about his personal accolades. He's been on a terrible team pretty much every year and now that the team is looking really good, not just for the moment but also for years to come having signed their big young stars, he's thriving knowing the team can go places. It's super valuable for him to be that veteran and take on that leadership role for his team. That's more important for their path to success than any personal accolade could ever be imo.

Yes, it's good that White Sox fans have a team to be excited about! Perhaps Jose Abreu will gain even more nationwide respect if the White Sox make some playoff runs.

Let’s get Dlck Allen in the game next year so we can complete the collection of best All-time Sox 1B.

Imagine if they drop an Andrew Vaughn future stars

I’m sure they will. Enjoy the 4 high rated right handed first basemen.
