Self-Assessment - PCI placement skills
-
C, on a bad day an F, on a good day a B+. My biggest problems are over adjusting to breaking balls and fastballs down the middle- I almost always flick the pci down and pop them up. For breaking balls I tend to lower the pci a tad too much
-
I have no issues moving my pci up and down hitting high or low. My issue comes with cutters and sliders inside
-
Low middle or middle middle= A+
High middle= B+
Middle in=B
Middle away or low and away= C (sometimes I hit these well)
High and in or high and away= DOverall B- in pitches in the zone
Low pitches out of the zone= C-
Pitches above the zone= B
Inside out of the zone= A-
Outside out of the zone= B-Timing...C+ overall on timing

I wanna lower my RS grade to like D or F. I bought Kontrol Freeks, trying to get used to them, actually saw immediate improvement in pitching, i see better movement of PCI, but i just flat out look like a spaz with wear i put the PCI. It has to be that i am right handed and dont have the same dexterity in my left thumb that i have in my right.
I've had this thought too, and I think you're right. I thought about changing the button mapping so I could move the PCI w the right stick and swing w L1 or L2 or something
Another thing I wish you could do is customize the starting point of the PCI. Like I would probably start it up and in or low and middle if it were possible. I don't really like holding the PCI anywhere other than middle middle because it shakes/vibrates so much and is distracting

Honestly what i want is no rubber band effect. If i just push the stick a little and let go, it would stay there. What happens to me is i move it to the spot, and then move it out if the spot. If it didn't bounce back, i know id have better placement. Small little adjustments, not huge giant strides

I think I'd rate myself a D at PCI placement..always seem to be a split-second too slow on reacting. Also, the curveball in the dirt gets me way too often.
-
Any advice, not sure if it’s PCI or timing but desperately need help hitting... EVERY SINGLE game from 575 and up I lose 1-0 or 2-1.. occasionally I get a 1-0 win. My pitching is insane I just can’t hit the [censored] ball and it’s making me hate this game!
-
There honestly isn't a grade high enough for me...if the object was to somehow always get the edge of the PCI on the ball. No idea how I do it, but I can just miss every single pitch.
-
My pci location is usually good to very good... Timing... Oh boy timing. I know nothing about timing. How often im early then late on back to back same exact pitches is boggling. But my pci is dead center. I cant explain why it is at all.

D. I’m a terrible hitter and I know it.
