Point of these Topps Now cards

Noticed a lot of the topps now cards are Overpowered.
What is the point of these cards if they make all the other cards from the past less valuable.
The Bo Bichette topps nowcard is going to be better than any legend card.
is there suppose to be any strategy w/ these topps now cards?

These cards are great imo and not overpowered compared to many cards yet to be released. Love that these cards are actually usable compared to the trash topps now cards from last year

I think the point is to have fun with them. The Bo card is maybe the only legit card of the bunch. A lot of the hitters can mash but are really slow or not great defensively. Most of the pitchers have good pitch selection and per 9s, but have less than ideal velocity. I like that it gives us playable cards from teams or players we like that otherwise wouldn't have a high diamond card.

based on real life performance,and they said they try and do the lower rates players unlikely to get get a high card so fans of that team/player can have fun with it. same with the POTM.

These cards are way more make believe than the Future Stars everyone whined about. In hindsight, I loved the FS series even more now that when I hear x team is calling up their top prospect, it's someone I'm familiar with.

They are trying to supply line diversity which is great also they want to celebrate these moments give us cards that are fun to use.
In the end if there are more useable cards then it allows people to find what they like to fill out their line ups opposed to having 18-20 cards that everyone uses because they are the best of the best

Mostly useful for team specific dailies.... I bought two
.......mets and orioles just to fill that power bat for their teams,plus hayes has speed which I lacked for that team. Nido and bo moments left...finish that this weekend. -
Out of all the TN cards they’ve released, Bo is really the only card you’re likely to see in RS. These cards are always supposed to be just for funsies. There’s a reason we get always get TN for players like Kole Calhoun and Stephen Piscotty but never for Mike Trout or Fernando Tatís.

The Choi is serviceable in some budget lineups too. Slow as heck, but usable in a pinch.

They are essentially Moments cards like in NBA 2K or TOTW in Madden.
They take usually average to good players that "flash" and have a moment of greatness on the field and give them a card representative of that singular moment of greatness.
Is Bo Bichette deserving of a 97 OVR card? No.
But for the 7 game tear he was on, something no SS has done since 1920 (according to the card), he has played like a 97.
Athletes get "hot" from time to time and have big games.
The difference between great players, like Trout, and some of the guys in the Topps Now program is that Trout is able to replicate those moments of greatness on a much more consistent basis. -

How can you say that? These cards are based off a performance or performances. Future Stars are based off projections. How are Future Stars more believable?

I think the point is to give people the chance to field a serviceable team online and offline that play to the casuals. I'm not one of them, but I can see the point. Playing any moment is cool in theory.
