Apparently, it was his team, but a computer. I THINK. It was in Extra Innings, which I have no idea what that is. I feel dumb.
What is the extra innings mode anyway?

It let's you play vs the CPU using another user's team.
So instead of playing the Rockies you can have the CPU play as Rebel's or in your friends case against Kyle's team.
