Drag Bunting is [censored] Ridiculous

Took a week away, came back and my first game consists of my opponent drag bunting with Carew, Jackie and Cobb to start the top of the 1st
Drag bunting is way too effective this year and it’s gotten to the point now where people are just flat out exploiting it. Just add that to the list of reasons why I find myself not wanting to play despite the awesome content.
Please dear god nerf the effectiveness of drag bunting. Yes, you can shift your defense but we all know the sense of urgency in the infield is STILL not where it should be especially on plays like drag bunts.
I’m 100% for bunting to advance runners but if you drag bunt with a speed-stacked lineup, I have 0 respect for you. Buddy deserved the 14-4 mercy rule.

If someone bunts, I shift any guy with speed by bringing the 2B and 3B in, works as intended

Drag bunting is an obvious exploit of the game in terms of infielders still having little sense of urgency.
It’s pretty much the cheapest way to get a hit and as mentioned above, just makes for an annoying gameplay experience.
It’s not make or break but drag bunting this year is way too effective and needs to be adjusted

Noob question how do you bunt consistently without directional hitting. If I drag bunt with zone hitting I usually send it foul

Bring your 2b and 3b in then it’ll be an out everytime they bunt

Guys may resort to bunting because they know they are not that good at hitting. Ever think about that? I come across players who attempt to bunt all the time. It's not that hard to shift your defense to 'bunt defense' if you recognize the hitter having good bunt attributes combined with good speed. I have yet to see anybody attempting to bunt when I shift my defense to 'bunt defense' mode.
What's annoying are guys like you and the poster who mercy rule someone and that's not good enough just because your opponent attempted to drag bunt a few times. Just adjust your defense and quit whining.

If you held him to only four runs, seems like his strategy isn't all that good.

It's funny. You talk to or watch any top tier players and if someone bunts down 3rd against them with a lefty shift they'll almost always say something to the effect of "fair play"
In real life MLB, if Ortiz or Cano would bunt down 3rd agaisnt the shift the opponent would happily accept that and take the bat out of their hands.
And yet here you are, so entitled that you won't take 3 seconds to adjust your defense in a video game with a PRESET OPTION, and then cry foul because someone bunted. This is 100% on you, and you look really salty and pathetic.
But hey, at least you mercied him right?

Sounds like my response hurt your feelings a little bit. If you like to get wins by trying to bunt all game, I’ll adjust my defense to defend it. Just enjoy watching all my homers.

If you have guys like Brock, Robinson, etc and AREN’T bunting to get on base when the defense is back, you’re not playing right. Why would you not use a player’s greatest asset against a team that is refusing to defend against it?
To me it’s just as frustrating to run into a team where everyone is juiced, and the guy scores 6 runs on 6 hits. And unlike with bunting, you can’t change your defense to account for an absolute bomb squad. For the record, I’m much more the latter here - I think Mantle is my best bunter, and I’m not bunting with him. But I have no problem with people playing however they want - I just don’t see the issue with bunting when it’s honestly so easy to prevent.
