nah ima guess its some watered down league where you play one season and have to restart. they wont bring back online franchise bc they need to herd all the online players into their lootbox/pack micro transactions mode that is DD. i havent bought the game since the show 17 bc they took out online franchise....got it for free this year with psn sub and litreally played like 4-5 games of DD and got bored of it facing every team with the exact same 99 rated players.
So this is not really the truth because if they were going to do that, why would they even do this? This is probably a small version of what will come along in a later version. A lead back into OFM

Exactly!!! That's exactly what I think.. It's a small sample size until next gen when we can expect Sony Sandiego to blow the roof off all of MLB THE SHOW modes.. Well they better. Especially taking on the the Xbox community lol.... I also believe it's going to useful for the time being considering they may be shutting 17 servers off pretty soon! Just my hypothesis as well!

The custom league will be leagues but probably back to just 40 man rosters. So basically a standard type league atmosphere like we had before online franchise. It was basic but simple.

Custom Leagues is going to be completely online and Diamond Dynasty based.
an Offline custom league mode just sounds like a Franchise sandbox mode, (which does sound cool), but not really realistic for the upcoming game. I think Custom leagues will give you the ability to make your own "division" like the ones in DD (Wild card, World Series, etc), and put a certain amount of friends in the league, determine how many games you play, and see who's Diamond Dynasty squad is the best.

**Sounds plausible but suspect they'll definitely throw regular teams in there to get the OFM guys a taste of what's coming... No way the leave us out and only allow the DIAMOND DYNASTY crowd to league it up when we're the ones out here campaigning for any type of league.. I know one thing, that stream on Feb. 27 better prove you wrong!!! My preorder will become another yearly subscription just like last year! I'll pick it up when it's $10 in December and play it for a few minutes on the PS5! Sony Sandiego wouldn't dare.. **

I'm starting to think that SDS erred in making the Custom Leagues stream very late among the reveals. People are getting their own ideas of what it's going to be and the chances of disappointment seem pretty high.
Personally, I'd like it to be an offline-capable mode that lets me play a season with my DD team. Heck, if it even allows a basic season mode without all of the GM stuff that Franchise has, that'd be a major improvement over the last few years.

I agree that those types of moves from companies are maddening. -Pun on purpose lol-
But personally, I think it's good that we seeing progression towards what we had, (Assumedly, will be more informed on what it involves after that stream).We all know that for whatever reason, the servers for OFM were [censored]. Maybe this is the start of them rebuilding it, but they couldn't devote enough resources to bring it all back.
Or maybe I'm a naive idiot, but time will tell.

I'd agree with assessment!!! Only thing that matters is if this stream goes into detail about what we can expect! I don't expect much but I do feel like they'll be a few surprises and we as in the " ONLINE FRANCHISE MODE " crowd will extremely happy with what they've brought us!! Can't wait..
