Definitely take a lot of pitches. It felt like I walked 4 or 5 times a game

Yeah I agree with taking pitches. The CPU usually will get behind in the count and then finally give you something to hit if you're ahead in the count

Speed helps a lot, though I have won in the HOF games by bigger margins than the 3 inning games. I was patient and once I started getting hits runs kind of rolled in like a tidal wave, almost like the showdowns. The short games speed get's you a run or 2 and then just cruise.

Kluber, Diaz, Rollie, eck (dibble if in the budget)

When you get the cpu in 0-2 1-2 2-2 you have 3 options of pitches:
Slider away, change down, high and tight fastball. Don’t throw anything else, they will either chase or take. That should limit them to 1-2 runs a game max.

When hitting take until 2 strikes (like early days of showdown) and when you swing just hope lol if you walk a bunch you should be able to advance the runner at least even if you get a crappy Nerfed out. Good luck!

I have 5 of the 9 HOF games done. I restart until I can take a 2-3 run lead in the first and then coast. Maybe I don’t use them right but speed hasn’t helped me much. Home runs with Musial, Ortiz or prestige Jackson are how I have won each game. I was using 97 Bieber until I got the the AL West game and for some reason that lineup has been hurting him. So now I am rolling with N. Ryan. I don’t usually play on HOF either so I have found the hitting to be tough.

I have found Paxton to be outstanding in the Ruth games.

It will take time getting used to. Keep playing it and all star will be easy

I usually don't play above all-star. I've finished 5 of 9 hof. Be patient and take more pitches than feels comfortable. Have speed in your lineup and on the bench to pinch run. Use pitchers with high control (Maddux, Kluber, or Paxton, Fingers, Eckersley) and then pitch fast up and in but mostly slow and away corner. Slider out of the zone to righties almost always gets strike 3. Also, don't lose focus late in the game. You have to concentrate for every pitch even if you are ahead. Actually especially if you are ahead. 🙂

Ryan has been my ace through every moment. I've lost three times and had to start over but I have one win to get and I have Ruth. Mantle, Mathews, Walker, Belli, Rollins have all contributed equally when I needed it the most. Honorable Mention goes to Sheffield who hit a pinch 2 run HR last night down by 1 in the 6th with 2 out to take the lead and close it out.

Pulse pitching will eliminate hung pitches (online and offline). Get decent with pulse, then just worry about scoring a run or two. I think I gave up two runs total in the 9 HOF games. For whatever reason, other pitch input types seem to hang [censored] way too much this year.

Turn on the pitching recommendations/follow those recommendations and you will have some great success. I rocked the whole thing out with Kluber.

On the hof moments, if you don't score in the 1st just restart

My first game vs Hal on HOF I lost 1-0 and had zero hits. My second game vs Hal I won 9-2 and took him deep 3 times. 2 bombs with Blackmon and 1 with Cano. Being patient def helps. If you come out guns a blazin Hal will make short work of you.
