As an baseball fan first and foremost, I have a hard time caring. No one's spoke this much about our game in a while, so I love that part. Just don't know if I could be outraged about THIS but not 98-2008, feel me? I'd personally (I know most of you folks probably don't view it the same) feel like a hypocrite.
As an Astros fan, I say let people talk. Call us whatever, it won't hurt me. Folks need to leave player's families alone, however. Internet or not, that's thoughtless and cruel behavior at best and it's not close to OK.

I love that you’re glad Aaron Judge said his part... when him and his team were caught doing the same thing back in 2017 also!!!
For some strange reason, I feel the Astros, Red Sox and Yankees weren’t the only ones doing this. It probably goes deeper, way deeper. Just the Astros have become the scapegoat of the whole thing.

Everyone has accused everyone for about 3-4 years now. Just HOU is at the forefront. Lance McCullers was calling things out in 2018 and said the word EVERYONE. But with sports "scandals", there's never ever going to be a league wide investigation when it comes to whole franchises. You can't kill interest in a sport with a rogue villain; you can when it's league wide.

The thing is, I’ve always thought sign stealing is bush league, but its been a part of the game for a very long time.
Even as the Astros have clearly been heavily involved, the stats have shown that it not only hasn’t helped their performance, it has actually hurt their performance. Doesn’t excuse anything, but this narrative that they “stole” the championship is just not supported by actual facts.
But you’re right, and that is my thought, Manfred pegs this all on one team rather than the whole league, he can save face for the MLB as a whole

Blaming one team and put 200% more interest in baseball. Now you got one villain vs the whole league.
I mean, guess who plays on opening day at 7 eastern on ESPN? It works out perfectly. MLB got more "butts in the seats" now. Most interest since the steroid era.

If you think it’s not league wide your insane. When this first surfaced there was an article about how tony larussa used cameras in 1979 with the white Sox’s. So get over it, teams beat them at home in the playoffs in 17. The won the title in game 7 in LA.

Get mad at the Astros all you want but the players families should not be receiving death threats that is ridiculous.
Players lost their jobs and their livelihood because they cheated. They STOLE MONEY FROM PEOPLES LIVES. This should be criminal imo. And they should be arrested and charged with official crimes.

Nah bro. This is different then stealing signs this is stealing signs in real time with artificial signaling. This is historical cheating.

Nah... this is ridiculous and completely ignorant!! You’re probably referring to that pitcher who is suing the Astros, who had a career era over 6 anyway, who was a terrible pitcher and blames the Astros for ruining his career when he just wasn’t good.
If people actually just looked at the stats and how this effected what happened on the field, you will quickly realize that the only negative effect it had was on the Astros hitters.

Loving every minute of it. They act so cocky and say they love being the villains then one day later another Astro comes out and says his wife needs 24 hour security and to come to all road games.
It’s been a month we’ll see if these clowns still love it 10 years from now. That immunity won’t matter down in Puerto Rico and the Dominican where people whose lives got ruined will be patiently waiting like they did Big Papi
-
As usual, the real villain is the league, or more specifically Rob Manfred. If he didn't cut a deal and punished the players involved, people would eventually get over it.

How is it different then Tony Larusa's, Lets have the next day SP assigned to operate a toggle switch to the scoreboard, where they will flip a switch on the video board to notify the hitter of the next pitch, in real time, via a CF camera zoomed in to the catchers signs? How quickly that got swept under the rug. There can only be one team to take the fall for this. It cannot come out that others did it to this level or similar or it will only hurt the game. Astros have to take it all.

Had he done that it would have opened the whole can of worms of everyone involved. MLB couldnt survive that. He will most likely pay with his job as well.

People are still trying to downplay the severity of what the Astros did?
How sad. I don’t agree with people getting the players families involved, but these guys deserve every bruise and broken bone they’re going to get.
-
All you need to look at for how much this helped the Astros in 2017 is their playoff road/home splits. Altuve and Bergman.. their numbers at home compared to on the road are ridiculous. You can't look at that and say cheating hurt the hitters and didn't help them. Comparing sign stealing from 1979 to 2017 is just silly. Technology has far and away exceeded that time line. Fortunately for the Astros when the Red Sox investigation is complete there will be a new team to talk about.
Anyone who follows baseba knows how talented the Houston Astros line up is. To say they won the world series solely based on cheating is a stretch. But it helped. How much did it help? We will never know. Something tells me these players are not so remorseful about the situation because it is a league wide problem and they are not going to say how sorry they are when they really don't feel that way when everyone was doing it. Who knows.
My biggest problem with this entir situation is Rob Manfred calling the world series trophy a piece of metal.

Then Big papi calls Fiers a snitch. He's mad at Fiers for snitching but not at the Astros for damaging the integrity of the game. Unbelievable. I guess that's a cheaters mentality.
Big Papi has a lot of nerve IMO.

He better keep his nose out of it if he wants his “Call to the Hall”.
The only players that have gotten upset at Fiers are players who also cheated/are cheating.
Hey just so you know in this country you are innocent until proven guilty. MLB is is still investigating the Red Sox that doesn't mean they will find them guilty.

I can almost assure you they will not. Boston, NYY, Cubs, Cardinals, or LAD have no chance. And TBH right no team really does, because one team has to take the fall.

Correa's and McCann's road/home splits in 2017 postseason were ridiculous as well, Correa, who is an even bigger liar than Altuve and Bregman are hit .211 on the road, but .371 at home and McCann hit just .037 on the road, but .300 at home. WTF

Internet or not, that's thoughtless and cruel behavior at best and it's not close to OK.There should be ZERO room left for those players and coaches/staff that knowingly participated in cheating the game. The impact that this has will last the rest of this decade and that’s why those Astros players should be banned from baseball for good, or immediately remove all opportunity for future awards and Cooperstown because obv they are cheating the league. And if it comes out the Red Sox and Yankees or god forbid my own Mariners are cheating, then those people need to be made an example of and removed from baseball. And the fact that Astros players families are getting death threats should tell you how much that the rest of the country and the world cares that your little thieves got away with it for so long. They should be ended in baseball.

He is not mad that he snitch, he is mad of the timing, why did Fiers wait 3 years to speak out that is what he is mad about. Read the full article on what Big Papi said and understand it. I am a dodger fan. I agree with that fiers should have said something sooner.
