Guy threw 50 innings and hit 40 home runs and his name is routinely placed in the same sentence as Babe Ruth.

Lol at most overrated player in history.

No-one was saying he was gonna be Babe Ruth, the only reason Ruth was mentioned when talking about Shohei is because they were both pitchers and hitters.

Also what kind of person likes to gloat about someone being overrated right after they get injured? I feel sorry for Shohei, he has the potential to be something special, and these injuries are tragic.

Don’t cry for him, it’s not a life threatening situation. He might have hurt his throwing arm. Again.

And don’t tell me you never heard the phrase “modern day Babe Ruth.”

As in a decent pitcher and hitter, that phrase doesn't mean "He is gonna be as good as Babe Ruth"

I can see you like gloating at injuries and feeling superior because "Oh I was right he's soooo overrated", so I'll leave it be

Tells me all I need to know about you.

I don't think Shohei is overrated. He's very [censored] talented, he's just struggling to get healthy.

Often injured and overrated are not thr dame thing. Being injured often is disappointing but if they perform well when healthy they aren't overrated. Overrated is a guy expected to hit .280 with 30 HRs year but goes about .240 with 15 HRs a year

Based on the title I thought Harper got hurt and he isn't even playing.

Tbh Harper being overrated has become such a mainstream thing that he has become underrated. He’s actually pretty good but people refuse to believe it

Well it's a good thing he reached his dreams...made millions of dollars and actually does what you do in a video game. Question would you switch spots with him ?

He can be great at 1 thing or be really good at both and help his team out more. Injuries happen to everyone lol. If ohtani takes a year to just hit I’m sure he’d drop 45 bombs in the regular 162. If he pitched for a year only, easily over 200 K’s. The guy wants to be great at both things and that’s no ones fault

He needs to become a hitter only, also you can't blame him for his hype thats the media.

Not really as talented as what people think. He’s really a platoon against righties, and a good to great pitching arm, which currently can’t stay healthy
