Everyone raves about Orel but that lack of heat worries me. Wood looks better. Eventually I'll get both but who should I prestige first?

Orel is great in the high ranks but I still think Velocity is king below 700 or “Hall of fame”. I’d use whoever depending on where your ranked if I’m honest. I’m scared to throw Orel on AS.

Orel is better at every difficulty. Wood isn’t good unless you’re on HoF or legend.

I can’t get out of the 600’s cause of my hitting, but Wood and Orel both are great, Orel’s control and pitch movement is insane.
Wood has a nasty slider and throws heat, but control tends to be an issue after about 5-6 innings

Orels more consistent, Wood has the better stuff if you get rolling.

Orels my number two, wood is my 5th on a god squad that doesnt roster kluber or hal

Orel is Great and Wood’s Slurve is disgusting. It haunts me. I hate it worse then an outside cutter that BARELY hits the zone. Can’t really lose with any of the Stage 3 pitchers. Except Catfish.

Been using Orel in the events, and a few times on RS and it’s literally 50/50 on a good start vs multiple hrs in a start

Wood’s control is an issue. He’s got nasty stuff...it just seldom goes where you wanted it to.

Used both. Just bought Wood and I love him so far! First game I pitched 7IP 0ER 2BB 9K he dashboarded after I went up 6-0. I'm stuck in AS levels so I wanted more heat. I love them both, but Wood is nasty once you get rolling!

Wow. Thanks for the input. Do you guys think both will be relevant into September?

I think so. Probably more so Orel because of his pitch mix but both will be usable. The problem is going to be just like Kluber/Newhouser once more people get him and use him, the better people will get against him. Also, don't know if you've tried him yet or not, but a budget beast TA I really like is AJ Burnett. Great pitch mix and heat for about half the stubs as Orel or Kerry. 👍👍👍

If you rely only on heat to beat your opponent, then that is on you. Orel has so much horizontal movement that he can make people look stupid, even on AS. You just have to know how to pitch. Wood has less command and his FB is not up there with Dibble to be that hard to hit.

This years game too many people rely on just pure FB speed to pitch. The good players will crush that. Orel is by far the best of the TA3 pitchers. I also think AJ is better than Wood, he has better control and better pitches.

The fastball sets up the offspeed stuff. If that makes me a bad player so be it, but that is what I was coached at juco to do. Orel does not have a fastball to set up the other pitches, that is my concern.

As a side note, if you like Orel you'll LOVE Maddux. Same pitcher, with better break and control.

Orel will always have the best sinker/curveball in the game because of his delivery. Those pitches look the same out of his hand.

OK, I have almost the exact same stats with both, but more K's with Maddux due to his insane ability to dot corners with breaking balls that are out of the zone until the very last second.

Since I've learned to use him and prestige him, Wood has been way better. Both have the ability to get tattooed, but when you get ahead in the count with Wood, it'll be a long game for the opponent. Just make sure you're keeping them off with their timing and stay out of the zone in 0-2 and 1-2 counts.

Trust me I’m not bad mouthing Maddux, I just think Orel’s sinker could have 50 break and still
“move” more than some other pitchers with 99 break. He release is definitely deceptive.
