OMG I am beating this guy & will take me to division. & It now freezes. 1st time ever... How long you all sit with game still on? If he quit would I know by now? Thanks

Depends on how confident you are that you'd win the next 2. But personally I would wait it out and find something else to do like watch real life baseball nowadays

Do you have remote play set up on your phone? If you do, I'd go watch a movie or some baseball and check back every now and then.
much more convenient when it's about time to go to bed, but it's not even 8 on the east coast...

If I am losing the game I will close app the moment it happens. If I am winning then there is zero chance in hell I am closing app as I will even get on my other PlayStation and account and wait for as long as it takes. Just as I would close app without thinking twice if I am the one losing I would expect the same from my opponent. If I am winning and they try to wait it out the reason I will literally wait it out as long it takes isn’t because I am desperate for the win but in fact because it shows the exact opposite from my opponent which makes it that much more important to me that I don’t allow them to snake wins the only way they know how.

Just had this tonight myself, just hit a hr with mantle to take the lead 1-0 in the 3rd, freezes, i look at smoltz for an hr and 10 min, we chatted while waiting, but I had the lead, stats with mantle who im close to prestiging and I was a win away from the championship series for the first time ever, i was going to leave that PS on until i died if needed....he went and checked his connection and it finally dropped.
I haven't had it happen often, and if im losing I quit out, but if im winning, not a chance... -
If I wanted to keep playing I'd just restart the game. It's just a game after all. But if I was done playing I'd leave the system on.
I had a freeze off in 17 last a couple days. I had to go to work and I came back days later and it was still stuck.

If i was winning the game and it was for the points to make DS, since i have only made DS one time, I'd let it go for a very, very long time.
But any other situation or if DS is something that you make regularly, I'd give a couple minutes and then quit. Why waste the time.

I played a game last night where the guy had two throws to first go into the stands and he then tries to send a friendly quit and I didn’t accept it... guess what happened? Frozen... so I’m thinking maybe it’s just a bad connection (I’m trying to give him the benefit of the doubt) but after a long while of waiting, I knew what it was so I just quit. It’s funny too because he messaged me during it and asked if I could just quit already since I was rated lower than him and he said he was busy doing other things..... aka his guilt for the better of him and he didn’t want to wait lol
Luckily for me I had recorded the gameplay and sent that and his messages telling me to quit to sds.
Just a Weird way of admitting to the freeze by telling me to quit during it and then denied everything once I asked him why he froze it lol his response to my question was that’s harassment! Lolol what did I just witness??!

If you’re one win away from WS then you wait it out. Otherwise you quit & move on...Are you seriously not going to play the show or any other video games all day just so you go from 712 to 730? Nah, Just move on.

Sounds like he froze the game somehow. However, asking you to quit during a freeze out is not an admission of guilt. But, there may be something on the recorded gameplay that SDS will recognize as an exploitation if they look into it that far

He told me to quit before there was enough time to realize it was a freeze off.
