I usually avoid making one of those "Who should I pick guys" posts , but considering how long the Prestige path takes, I definitely would love some community input from you guys.

So I have two teams I play with: Speed team and a power team. (Mostly, I play with my speed one.

Currently my lineup for my speed team is:

    • 1B - Jackie Robinson (99)
SS - CAP (with 83 speed and 100+ power)
      LF - Eric Davis
      RF - Mickey Mantle
      3B - Gary Sheffield
      C - Craig Biggio
CF - Mike Trout, but sometimes Eric Davis with Cody Bellinger in RF
      2B - Prestige Ryan Sandberg

Subs are Ellsbury, Killebrew, R Jackson, Posey, and Bellinger

    My power lineup is:

    • 2B - Prestige Ryan Sandberg
      RF - Reggie Jackson
      C- Joe Torre
      CF - Mickey Mantle
      1B - Harmon Killebrew
SS - CAP (Power over 100 both sides)
      3B- Gary Sheffield
      LF - Cody Bellinger

Subs include Mccovey, Biggio, Davis, Robinson, and Trout

I'm close to 300 stars and I was thinking of getting Maddux, (Currently using Smoltz, Orel, Paxton, Marchial, and Kluber for pitchers.) but now I'm not sure as there's alot of mixed reviews with him. I thought about Stan Musial, but many on the forum seem to think if you already have someone like Eric Thames, you don't need Musial.

Outfield is already a crowded position, so I'm not sure about Springer, but his stats do look pretty good for a power hitter and I'd replace Reggie with him. J-Ram doesn't look that appealing to me, but he's a switch hitter who I could put at 3rd or 1st without issues, though his defense doesn't look good enough for short or second as a secondary position.

We are getting closer to players with end-game position potential so I want to make this prestige pick carefully. Alot of possibilities at 1st base exist in the market for a good price from Thome to Mgriff , but Thames does seem end game.

Springer again does look like a good power option with good enough defense and decent speed in the outfield, but I could always buy Larry Walker. (And there's also alot of reasonably priced outfielders on the market.) J-Ram I'm just not sure. His defense just seems subpar in the infield besides 1st and 3rd. Am I missing something with him?

What are your guys thoughts? (Also if you see any room for improvement or changes, I do welcome the feedback.)

If you plan on doing the big collection Springer would be more useful than the other 2 IMO. Thames is the best for your squad though

Wouldnt Thames now (on the update) count as a part of the lightning collection? I'm assuming they renamed it that, for cards like his.

Really depends on who's swing you hit better with. I have not liked that Thames as much as i want to, but Springer has been great, haven't gotten to JRam yet

He might, but seeing that you probably won’t need all 5 for the collection( or can just wait for August), Springer would save you from paying 20k or more on that last postseason card

Well if you look at it that way. JRAM for the future Finest collection at the end of the year... given there’s enough of a season to develop a finest program.

Of course, won’t help you in the near future.

I’d go JRam tbh. As @peteypoz said, he will last a long time on the bench with that positional flexibility, serviceable D, power v R, switch hitting and good speed. Springer hits lefties well and plays good D so you could argue him as well.

But I would not go Thames simply due to the reverse splits. Cards like Thome, Killebrew and Musial are better at 1B than him IMO, making him a bench bat. Reverse splits are good for a starting player, but I don’t like them in a bench bat.

Collection points aside, Thames is the clear winner, probably best first baseman in show history (not including secondaries), springier is second as a really good hitter and average fielder, and I don’t think I’ve given Ramirez more than 10 ABs after seeing all of the errors he’s given up for others.

I was 100% in on Thames at Level 25. There are a lot more 1B out now then there was when I got him. Thome, Ortiz and Stan can all rake like Thames.

Honestly all 3 cards are very good. It really comes down to which position you’d be able to fill and honestly JRam is the most versatile for that. I’ve used him at 2B, 3B and SS. And could take an OF spot or 1B if you need it. Destroys RH pitching too and his no doubter animation is sweet.

Have you been able to use any this year in BR or showdowns to try their swings?
