i think there will be and should be some of the rewards linked to the big collection available today, the ultimate prize might not be attainable today and im fine with that

Yes that's true about Reggie Stocker, but I don't think SDS will put in a made-up player anymore. There seemed to be such bad feedback about Pepe Alazar.

comparing stocker to pepe is comparing apples to oranges. not even close in comparison whn it comes down to who the community chooses.

I think it will be attainable day 1 however only 1% of the player base will have the ability to obtain it as it will require many of the BR and WS rewards
Also consider that many of the main content creators for this game on youtube didn't get Honus day 1 or even day 30 as it required them to chase the collection a bit.
My self last year I was prepared with out knowing the collection was coming and it took about another 2 months to get Honus. I would suspect that is the time frame most people on this forum will take to aquire this card on average.

He'll be obtainable today. Not by everyone, obviously, but it won't be like the Immortals on Launch Day 2018 where they release something that's presently uncompletable.

It's a collection, not a mission set. They've explicitly compared this to the Honus collection last year, which had no missions. Yes, they said they listened to fan feedback and tweaked it, but I'm of the belief that's of how they're running the collection requirements, not about adding missions.

To be fair, the reason none of the content creators had Honus day 1 last year is because
- They weren’t at all prepared
- They didn’t tend to hoard cards before then. Most of them use a guy for a gameplay video and immediately sell him back to buy the next guy for a gameplay video.
I don’t think many will have this collection done day 1 either, but with more preparation last year quite a few more would have had it done

I just can’t see it being Maris. He had a great season in 61 and a few other good season but he’s just not a 5 tool “must have” player that will never leave your lineup
.260 career avg, less than 300 HR career, and only like 20 SB for his career. He’s not even a franchise player let alone a collection reward player
