Given the recent news in the MLB, and the uncertainty of the season continuing (a topic for another discussion, but I think it would be ill-advised to continue at this point not only for health reasons, but for team rosters become so volatile), I was wondering if it would be prudent for SDS to wait another 2 weeks before publishing the first Roster Update of the MLB season.

At this point, it would make the market untenable due to the COVID-19 spreading through teams in ways no one can predict. I know that normally, you never know if a player will be injured, and you buy and sell his card depending on his performance (those that play the market), but you never have 19 players from a given team "injured" in one swoop!

Example, take Jacob deGrom. A mighty fine pitcher, but imagine that 15 Mets players all of a sudden fall to COVID-19 and they need to fill the roster with say, AA - AAA minor leaguers due to the urgency. Their defence and offence will not perform at the same level as the current roster and his ERA might inflate from 3.5 to 5.5 and he might lose more games due to a lesser offensive production. I know this may be extreme, but that would affect his card rating, This could be said of any player. Even a .225 MLB hitter could up his average to .350 if facing a AA or AAA pitcher that's not ready for the majors, and this could happen.

Anyways, long story short, I think it would be prudent for SDS to wait 2 - 3 weeks before their first roster update. Thoughts?

May be you should add "The world may/may not end in the next two weeks, so maybe you need to halt everything you are doing just in case the world will end in two weeks!"

I would, but I didn't want to sound apocalyptic.

If wins factored into anything at all, deGrom would not be tied as the highest rated live series pitcher in the game. Nor would he have won either of the last two Cy Young’s.

They shouldn't even bother with ANY roster updates. Not even a full seasons worth of data can be calculated.
