With the new Headliner card being from my favorite team, The Boston Red Sox, I purchased all 5 packs. Low and behold I struck JD on my second pack. Followed that with a Diamond Chris sale. I open my fourth pack and the 4th card lands blue. [Insert Ric Flair WOOOOO]
Reveal reads award series, AL, right field. Frikin JD again. I give my best Jerry McGuire “SHOW ME THE MONEY!!!” & Tiger Woods fist pump and continue to have a great start on the 6th inning.

Morale of the anecdote is for you people who struggle with packs. I’ve been there and I know it sucks. But keep grinding and purchasing packs when you can. SDS will reward your hard work.

This is not the moral of the story. Are you being facetious?

The moral of the story is you got lucky over a short sample size which will definitely happen. But buying any substantial quantity of packs AT FULL PRICE is a guaranteed losing proposition.

Last night, I set out to prove this once and for all. Over around 750 packs, I pulled Cole, Trout, Bellinger, and 97Bryant -- among the normal ton of other devalued diamonds. And I'm pretty sure I did not break even.

The moral of your story is take the free packs and you will eventually get lucky a few times, which is nice. But absolutely don't turn around and use those stubs to buy packs, because you will give away like 50% of your stubs per pop.

Also, not calling you out or anything. Just in the mood to post and yours was top. Congrats on the stash.

Happy for you. I'm a casual player, but one day as a M's fan I will get a griffey card that I can use and doesn't cost a fortune..

Wow. I just put out a post that is basically the opposite of this. Argh

Sorry to read about that. But, I’ve been there and I’m sure I’ll be there again. Cold as ice.

Stay the course. Your time will come

Not aiming for facetious lol. Just wanted to share my jubilation I had yesterday in pulling packs.

I see your point and somewhat agree. At the end of the day buying packs, spending stubs is what SDS wants. People investing into their game. Yea more than likely we’ll lose on packs and production of packs. But getting that thrill Of securing your favorite guy or guys you can flip is the driving force for packs anyway. I just thought it was super ironic, it being my favorite team and a headliner. B/c I have terrible luck on headliner. But I totally see your point. Nothing wrong with stub stacking, i wish i had 750k in the bank!! Hope you can strike big one day!!!

Lol "hard work." Sds has you hook, line and sinker. Guess who just became a believer in wasting stubs? Over a jd Martinez card. It's happened to the best of us buddy, good luck.

So you’re saying if we don’t pull a diamond, it’s because we haven’t worked hard enough and we have disappointed our SDS overlords so they are punishing us?

It's gambling. Risk/reward. Keep in mind that the advantage is ALWAYS with the house (SDS in this case). I still buy packs once in a while - it's like a slot machine. If SDS programmed slot machine music while opening packs, and played some kind of loud alarm when you pull a diamond... I would spend ALL OF MY STUBS EVERY DAY!

    Food for thought, SDS...

Hahahha no not at all! I’m saying I know you or whoever it might be have worked hard in grinding innings, purchasing packs, etc. we’ve all been there. Just thought I should share my experience for people who don’t do well In pulling diamonds in general (especially if it’s someone they want).

It was a card I wanted b/c he’s on my favorite team. In my experience you put what you earn back into the game (when you can of course)

So what’s your approach for stubs and packs? What’s the point of letting them sit there if you don’t use them? Just curious. Thanks and good luck to you as well!

I suppose I do get your point if you earn stubs and packs through just playing the game I see your point. I misunderstood by thinking you meant hard work as in just buying a bunch of packs. Like as in the more you buy the more you will be rewarded. my point of view is that is i have a favorite player I just buy him off the market instead of trying to get lucky with packs because 99 out of 100 times you will be let down but I'm glad you got the card you wanted. Good luck to you buddy.

Well I was actually touching on both sides of packs. Earning from the in game rewards paths and buying. For a long time I wasn’t hitting on anything buying/free packs. Then just hit a streak on with free ones so i started buying and it paid off. Not every time but enough to keep me sending stubs back when i had the opportunity. Guess i got a bit more luck with this DLC drop. And the fact I got JD twice was just mind boggling. But yea for sure if you can go get your card, for a price within players region, then you go get that sucker. Good luck!

Right on, he's only down 1.3 million stubs after his fire pull. Let him enjoy his loss with a "win".
