Lol at theses dudes messing with a young buck. major leaguers aren’t the only ones to have movement on their pitches. I’m an “old man” and I can throw a pitch that moves easy. The problem is mine never topped out over 85 and I wasn’t a PO, I mainly played 3rd and LF.... and trust me, the 1B knew my throws could possible move to the left. Keep working on the game young buck, gets some pitching coach ( or hitting) and hopefully you can get to the show, or at least the college level.
I’m in middle school and throw 60, I hope my arm doesn’t wear out! I could see myself throwing 90 if I’m careful!
Don’t let them throw you more than 80 pitches a week or 60 in a game.... seriously, that’s how you throw it out. There’s a video out by fox sports south ( the Braves channel) and it talks about the damage that can be done with over pitching
It’s called Driven: Youth Baseball and another called Driven: Dr Andrews. Dr Andrews is one of the best sports surgeons in America and talks about the effects and potential injuries of overpitching
It's crazy my sons team played 4 games last weekend. Trying to manage pitch count is becoming an issue

We’ve played 3 games in a day! It’s crazy and exhausting! Coaches have to strategize the pitching carefully so we don’t run out!

If they had won there second game Sunday they would have been in the semifinals. The week before the team that finished second played 5.

Whatever they gave maddux, SDS wont do justice with his movement. Dude had the best movement ive ever seen for a pitcher.
They said in stream he has max break on his sinker and his curve. And great control of all 5 pitches not just 2 or3.

They need to create a max break 125 just for him. 99 doesnt do him justice.

Sinkers and 2 seam fastballs are almost the same grip, right? It is really the movement of the ball and arm action/release, that creates the movement to go sideways vs downward?
That has always been my understanding. Usually if a pitcher throws a "2 Seam Fastball" they don't throw a Sinker as well, and visa versa. And then it depends on if your pitch is any good, because these past two seasons the league has seen a lot of pitchers move away from the 2-seam and sinker because it wasn't working for them.

@olivegarden2 “I throw a 2 seamer” he says lol. I’m willing to take a gamble on your two seamer and a professional baseball players two seamer are completely different. What you throw is a straight line fastball that spins like a two seamer but with no movement.
Mine does. It moves in towards righties and away from lefties. I may not be a professional but I'm still young. If you don't think I very good then that's your loss. I'm young and throw 60
Define young. At 11 years old I was throwing about 60. By 17-18 I was hitting low-mid 90’s. The norm now is for 10 year olds to throw 60’s and I’d tell your coach to get bent if he lets you throw 2 seamer/sinker at that age. Way to ruin your mechanics and arm.

Holy moly kid. I'm almost old enough to be your great grandfather. I will apologize for all the "grownups" I've seen on here ragging on you with "breadsticks" "all you can eat" nonsense. Its great that you love the game and play a lot. I was the same way when I was a kid only we didn't have select baseball or travel leagues. We just had little league with a limited schedule. We made up for the lack of games by playing sandlot ball a lot. I played High School ball with a couple of guys who had successful Major League careers and played against a bunch in college. Keep your love for the game and you might make it someday. Baseball at least paid for my college education. Good luck always.

I don't condone roasting a kid of his baseball ambitions at all, [censored] is wrong with y'all? Also here's a bunch of players and coaches talking about what I was saying how for all intents and purposes the two pitches are identical:
https://blogs.fangraphs.com/players-view-are-two-seamers-and-sinkers-the-same-pitch/
OP don't sweat the arms race for velocity and start throwing with your arm instead of your body. The beauty of the internet is that there are tons of coaches out there making content on good drills and techniques, this dude talks about how to get good healthy velocity. Staying closed off and driving with your hips first is huge.

This is why SDS needs to move beyond they 5 pitch repertoire. Someone posted it months ago about Yu Darvish who should be more effective than SDS allows him to be because he has numerous pitches the game doesn’t give him.
Maddux should have a sinker, two seem, running fastball, and 4seem fastball. Either way it shouldn’t nullify him from throwing change ups and curveballs. If a guy had 8 pitches give him 8 pitches. Call it the “bag of tricks” quirk and give them the arsenal they deserve.

How does it ruin my arm? I throw it like a regular fastball. I don’t flick my wrist or anything on any of my pitches

I had to go see Dr Andrews almost 10 years ago after getting over pitched in a Cooperstown tournament. He definitely knows his stuff.
