Question for Tech savy players

I recently saw a video that shorter HDMI cables improves the quality of audio and video in home theater systems. The premise was that due to the shorter cable, the data/video etc would have to travel a shorter distance thus improving the quality.
Would this theory work as well with a PS4?
Would a shorter HDMI cable improve performance or input lag on a PS4? -
Lol no. Nothing will be noticeable to the eye. Unless your PS4 is sitting 2 blocks over and you have a 500ft cable

Not sure about the answer to this, but I can tell you that I did make the switch from my tv to a monitor last week. And I can’t believe how big a difference it is

As a seasoned veteran, my reaction time is not what it used to be.I have managed to scrap together a winning record during the event. First time I ever played on HOF.
Most of my games consist of me striking out a ton. Solid pitching and defense keeping me close.
And then I luckily run into a pitch for a game winning blast. -
The difference between say a 50 foot cable and a 3 foot cable will be so microscopic that it would take an ultra high speed camera (like a phantom which records at 12,500 fps) to POSSIBLY notice a difference.
We're talking flaps of a humming bird wing.

Honestly, cable length won't mean a thing in 99.9% of situations. Unless of course, you want to have your PS4 in your neighbor's attic, and your TV in the basement of your house. Then you may notice something. The tangible differences you can make are getting a low latency screen(Plenty of affordable 1ms monitors out there these days), and if you feel like flexing your future proof muscles, things like variable refresh rates or just 120-240hz screens. Though with the direction Sony seems to be going with their underpowered console relative to Xbox(Enough so that Far Cry 6 won't run 4k on PS5), and a knack of developers to not give a [censored] about framerates above 30, that probably won't be worth thinking about
