Pitch speeds the same next game?

It honestly took me a while to get used to this after getting really good at mlb 18.
Increased? Decreased? Or left alone with hitting hopefully “improved”?
-
Increased a bit it looks like
-
It seems increased from everything I've seen so far
-
I’m excited about the increase I just hope that the frame rate issues in mlb stadiums are resolved. It’s already hard enough at mlb stadiums with the current speeds
-
JMO, they need to be careful with increasing speeds any more. I get that fastballs were useless in '18 but currently there are games, I'm assuming due to lag, where I literally have to start my swing the instant it leaves the pitcher's hand. I take BP on Legend with the pitch speed all the way up and still can't replicate what I sometimes see online on AS difficulty.

This definitely is a reason I want quality of wifi based match ups, just give it 3 tiers. People paying for great wifi(I sure don't) don't deserve to be stuck in laggy af games

Agreed. I’ve never seen so many people have ridiculously early swings the whole game last year.
It’s definitely Not fun to feel like your opponent is guessing, yet they beat you swinging like they’re swinging a guitar.

Nothing ruffled my feathers more than getting an early swing, several foul balls, then follow up with 4 "check swings" that seem to only happen when the ball is out of the zone.

I experience the same quite often (not surprising as I live in Finland - although to be clear, it cannot be due to my own internet speed as I currently have a 1GB DL speed and use my PS wired in).
I don't know for sure whether my opponent is experiencing the same 150 mph fastballs or if he's actually encountering the opposite. I also don't know if it is caused by my opponent's poor internet connection or if it is something to do with distance from the servers.
I would certainly welcome the possibility of viewing the connection quality before entering into games.

Doesn’t Finland have a sport that looks kinda like baseball, but isn’t?
Is there even a real baseball field in Finland?

Yupp, it's called pesäpallo (pretty much a direct translation of baseball).
And yup, there are a few actual baseball fields here with a proper mound and everything. Obviously it is an extremely marginal sport here though.

Yeah latency is a real problem. I live in the Netherlands and my fiancee lives in Texas, I currently split my time between the two.
Whenever I'm at home in Europe, all my games are impacted negatively due to the latency. I have trouble locating on every difficulty level and often times fastballs come in at what seems 150mph. I still have decent enough reflexes to make it work, but it's holding me back for sure.
Whenever I'm in Texas (I run with the exact same setup there, same monitor and equal internet) everything runs so much better and smoother and I actually had to slow my bat down in the beginning, not kidding.

I don't doubt that for a second. I am aware that I am unfortunately giving a massive handicap playing from Europe and there's not a [censored] thing I can do about it.

This sounds like a very good problem to have

Ha, I see what you mean but I would prefer that the latency would be equal for everyone at every time regardless of location, like with dedicated servers.. Due to my own experiences I firmly believe latency is an advantage for certain peopl based on their location/internet and/or other factors. I know DEMISE likes to cry hard over this stuff, but he is definitely not wrong.

This doesn't exist according to the MLB The Show Gods on here. Every fastball in every game is the exact same. /s
Most games I have to start my swing when it leaves the pitchers hand in order to have good swing but what do I know. It looks like people are throwing 120. A lot of games where it feels like my opponent is throwing 120 it seems like I am throwing slow pitch softball, can't control my pitches and get good PCI placement for poor contact. My 99 speed outfielder runs the same for every ball too.
I am wired fiber in the center of the U.S. Game actually plays a little better wireless. Record on wired is probably 10-50 if I had to guess. Much better on wireless. Once I get to DS next season, I may try mobile hot spot.

What do you also play on? and when you have host (home games) you shouldn't experience that much latency and if you do, your opponent would as well.

When you are home hosting an opponent, their connection matters a lot. I am home team the majority of the time.
I just know there is a problem with connections in the game. It could be mine, it could be something on SDS. I am on fiber but that doesn't mean there isn't an issue on my end. I highly doubt it since I have sub 30 ping to PUBG servers in Ohio and Texas. I was pinging sub 10 on my Xbox wired in the other day.
