I was just looking at the market, see he is around 12k. His attributes all look pretty good, especially if he is prestiged. Is his swing that bad or something? I have Bagwell at 1B and love him, but wouldn't mind a solid LH bat.

I did a search and nothing came up, so sorry if this has already been asked.

1B is usually a position people want power at, so it's not that he is bad, but he doesn't have the stats more people look for in a first baseman

And for all Yankee teams Gehrig will be there,(eventually) so that also lowers interest in him.

Thanks guys. I guess his power is a bit low, but other than that he really looks good. But power is king, especially at the corners. I had forgotten about Gehrig, great point.

I might just pick him up at this price, use him as a bench bat. If nothing else, I think I'm 1 FOTF away from a reward if I decide to lock him in.

His card plays awesome and above the stats. I hit prestige with him Thursday and he's now diamond fielding in LF and RF.

The low cost is more a condition of the market and availability of the cheap AL East exchanges. Coupled with the desire as mentioned above, to have more raw power at 1B.

I like to hear that! I thought his 94 from last year had a nice swing, so I'm going to pick him up for sure. I had forgotten about the versatility, he would probably be okay in LF if he was prestiged. I've read about the power threshold, and if it even exists. But if it does, his power is pretty close to making it, prestiged he would be fine I'd think.

Thanks for the review, gonna put an order in on him now.

Not enough power n diamond defense isn't important at 1st base. Lots of 1b options with power.

i agree..... personally i love that Bellinger card at 1b, he just has a money swing for me and won me certain games in the 10th inning RS kind of thing....... to each their own and that is the beauty of this game

Fair points about the power, I don't think he will be my starting 1B, but looks like a fun card to try out. I guess I seen the price and was shocked how low it was, but as said lots of options.

I agree Hungry, so many cards this year, and it is amazing what cards work for me that don't for others and cards I should do well with that I don't. As you said that is the beauty of the game this year. When I started in 18 we had what, like 40 cards all year? Might be exaggerating a bit, but every lineup looked the same. So nice to have diversity.

I also think there's probably a decent amount of the Mattingly cards out there. I'm sure many people had the Yankees affinity worked up pretty high before Stage 3 dropped expecting some good cards to come out of that Yankees program. So, many people probably able to get him fairly easily if they want, or want to sell him.

I expected the flashback and legend market to go crazy. I'm not sure why bronze, silver, and gold live series is going nuts right now.

People also expecting Prospect, FOTF, and FS cards to be part of the "Honus" collection. So those cards are being bought for exchanges.

Also, with the season starting in a few days, people are getting investments in.
