Jim Thome? His vision & fielding a problem or ok?

Appreciate any info from those that used him.

Again to everyone that plays MLB the show 20: VISION DOESN'T MATTER! Fielding is fine with Bronze at first but don't play him at 3rd please...
-
Why doesnt vision matter? I have read multiple times..."vision has an effect on the timing window"... Plus the low vision guys like I have... Mark Reynolds....have a harder time getting to the ball swing wise...

Vision is only the outer PCI, the inner effects contact. The batters swing effects their timing

Vision doesn’t affect the inner PCI, which is the one that really matter. They say that it affects the timing window, but I ran tests and couldn’t determine if it really did to any noticeable extent. Also it’s likely it just extends the “foul tip” timing window, not the good timing window. In conclusion, vision likely doesn’t matter nearly as much as a lot of us had thought.

Ohhhhh ok, thanks for the info. Why then cant I hit anything with Mark Reynolds? Lol

I can't either! His contact is a little low and I'm not impressed by his swing.

I'm fairly average online and I'm hitting over .300 with him. He's been one of my best hitters in the current event with zero issues on defense.
-
Thome is a beast and people fear pitching to him
-
Yeah he’s been really good for me. I’ve had a few surprising homers with him that I definitely thought I missed and my pci was pretty poor but it just carried. He’s been very solid at first so far as well.
-
Thome is good to go, technically better vs righties then big papi and better defense
-
Agree - there is no excuse not to have Thome at least on your bench
-
I've only used him in the event, but he's amazing, love his swing
-
I also play him at third in the event and he is terrible, but who cares.

Anything up and in he crushes .. no errors for me. I was struggling with the low pitches but found his zone.

He probably has one of, if not the best swing in the game for me. I am not one of these elite hitting goons with slow pitch softball BA for every player. I hit pretty well on All Star and I’ve struggled a lot this year on HOF(getting a bit better thanks to the event).
With Thome’s reg card I batted .508 over 185 ABs and hit 41 HR and 21 2B. Granted a lot of that was in the moonshot event. Now I have his prestige and in a mix of All-Star and HOF he’s batting .340 with 7 HR in 53 ABs. I moved Thames to the bench for him and in this event I’m even messing with him at 3rd so I can play Bagwell at 1st. Most likely he’d stay at 1st for my RS squad unless I can’t take Bagwell out of the lineup. His defense at 1st has been good so far and nothing special at 3rd obviously.

He's been fine just fine for me. No errors at 1B, and he's been an RBI machine
